Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 11

"This math problem..."

Natalie’s eyes widened slightly when she saw the advanced calculus question.

It was the final problem from the International Mathematical Union's competition years ago. She had solved it.

But her achievement had been stolen. The person who stole it was Marie.

Because of that, Marie became known as Eldoria City’s once-in-a-generation mathematical prodigy.

She could let go of the stolen credit. She could tell herself it didn't matter.

But now, Marie was even trying to steal her child.

The little boy looked anxiously at the tablet, relieved it hadn’t been damaged.

"You’re so young. This problem involves algebra and calculus. Can you even understand it?"

As Natalie fell silent, the little girl watched her, her doe-like eyes filled with a thirst for knowledge.

[I've been working on it for a long time, but I can't get the answer. Do you know how, miss?]

The girl looked no older than five or six, yet she was tackling such a difficult problem.

Are kids these days born knowing calculus?

"As it happens, I do. Let me teach you. It's cooler over there under that big tree."

Natalie led the little girl to the shade of the tree. She explained the problem with great patience, and the girl’s gaze was remarkably intelligent. As Natalie finished, a look of sudden understanding dawned on the child's face, as if every word had been directly uploaded to her brain. She was a magical little girl—beautiful, brilliant, but sadly, unable to speak.

Natalie felt a pang of regret for her.

The little girl gestured with her hands.

[Pretty lady, your way of thinking is amazing! Your method for solving this is so elegant and efficient. You must be a math genius.]

A math genius? She used to be.

Well, she was done being that housewife.

Even if she only had a few days left, she had no intention of serving this family any longer!

The Lockwood Estate

Terence’s eyes were sharp and dangerous. "How did the young miss go missing?"

A line of servants stood with their heads bowed. The tutor among them trembled as he spoke. "The young miss was working on a math problem, but I... I couldn’t solve it right away."

Terence’s gaze darkened, his presence overwhelming. "Did you buy your PhD in mathematics?"

"Mr. Lockwood, I... no... I’m sorry." The tutor felt his knees weaken. He stammered, "Mr. Lockwood, that problem is one of the Aurelis Prize challenges. I told the young miss I’d need a few days to work on it.

"While I was trying to solve it, she just disappeared. Oh, right! I did mention to her that someone had solved it before—Marie, the once-in-a-generation math prodigy from Aurelis Imperial University, who is now the young madam of the Cross family. Do you think she could have gone to find her?"
