Marie returned home with a thunderous expression. Victoria rushed to her side, asking nervously, "Marie, how did the meeting with the Fairchild family go?"

"I couldn't even get a meeting with Mr. Fairchild. It seems he was deliberately avoiding us." Marie's eyes glinted with malice. "Who is pulling strings behind the scenes? First, they call the police on us, and now they sabotage our deal with the Fairchilds."

Seeing Marie’s anger, Victoria quickly tried to soothe her. "Marie, don't worry. Your father has connections with the Fairchild family. Why don’t you have him speak to Mr. Fairchild?"

Darren’s brow furrowed. "I'll go see Mr. Fairchild again. You don't need to worry about this anymore."

The sharp tone in Darren's voice made Victoria feel wronged, but after a moment's thought, she understood.

Both of their faces were grim; they must have hit a brick wall. The Fairchild deal was likely dead.

The thought filled Victoria with rage, which she immediately directed at Natalie, who was just walking into the room.

Natalie took in their expressions, each one fouler than the last.

Victoria pointed a finger at Natalie’s nose and began to screech, "Natalie, this is all your fault! You didn't make breakfast on time, which made everyone late. If Marie had eaten earlier and gotten to her meeting with the Fairchild family, the deal wouldn't have fallen through!"

"So, the contract was cancelled because Marie was late for the signing? In that case, Marie, you should really be more punctual in the future."

Natalie’s calm, clear-eyed response sent Victoria into a sputtering rage.
