Terence spoke with deep affection, and as if on cue, the two children began placing food on Natalie's plate.
Lucas: "Natalie, have some shrimp."
Liana placed a piece of a braised rib on her plate. The trio, one adult and two small children, completely revolved around Natalie.
Another diner remarked, "Those two children are so well-behaved, even serving their mommy food. My kids, I have to feed them by hand."
"She's so lucky. A pair of beautiful children and such a handsome husband."
Darren's face darkened. He looked at his son. "Hanley, this is your favorite shrimp. You have some too."
Hanley replied, "But I don't know how to peel it. Mommy always used to peel them for me."
Darren knew perfectly well his son couldn't peel shrimp; he had given it to him on purpose.
He then looked at Natalie. "Hanley wants shrimp, but he can't peel it. Didn't you always say shrimp is nutritious and he should eat more?"
Darren stared at Natalie, expecting her to immediately get up and peel the shrimp for Hanley.
Hanley was already upset about what happened today. Darren was offering her an olive branch, a way to mend their mother-son relationship. He hoped she would understand.
Natalie met Darren's gaze. What was he implying? That she should go over there and peel shrimp for them?
It was true. In the past, every shrimp they ate was peeled by her. When had they ever gotten their own hands dirty?
Now that she was gone, they couldn't even eat shrimp?
Lucas, seeing Darren's high-and-mighty attitude, said angrily, "If you want to eat shrimp, why don't you peel it yourself? Don't tell me you expect Natalie to do it for you. How shameless can you be?"
Suddenly, she understood. Terence was showing Darren, through his own actions, that if he wanted to show her affection, *he* should be the one peeling shrimp for *her*, not the other way around.
As the realization dawned on her, she didn't notice the subtle movement of Terence's Adam's apple as he watched her eat the shrimp.
Seeing Natalie accept and eat the shrimp from Terence without any hesitation, Darren couldn't take it anymore. He shot up from his seat. "Natalie, you should remember your place! You're a mother! How can you be so intimate with another man in front of your own son? Do you have any decency? Are you even fit to be a mother?"
Darren's words made everyone in the restaurant turn to look at them.
What was going on? An affair?
So blatant?
Terence said coolly, "I peeled a shrimp for a single woman. How is that indecent? Does she have to peel shrimp for you to be considered decent? Are you even worthy?"

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
