Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 494

Edgar’s face was grim. Grace leaned down toward Terence. “My dear boy, even if your legs are injured, even if you can never stand again and have to spend your life in a wheelchair, it doesn’t matter. You are a cherished child of the Lockwood family. We will protect you and take care of you for the rest of our lives. Don’t you worry.”

A lump formed in Terence’s throat. Even though his grandmother was confused, her love and affection for him were as clear as ever.

Grace smiled lovingly. “Where is my son, Aaron? I want to see my son. He was such a clever boy. He must have grown up to be very handsome. His own son is so good-looking, so my son must be wonderful. Where is he? Let me see him.”

Grace’s words made Mrs. Lockwood’s heart ache. She quickly went to her and took her hand. “Mom, your son is away on a business trip. He’s not at home.”

“Oh, my son is away on business? Alright, then. I’ll wait for him here. Are you his wife?”

Mrs. Lockwood nodded. “Yes, I’m his wife, your daughter-in-law.”

“My son must be very handsome to have found such a beautiful wife.”

Mrs. Lockwood was touched that her mother-in-law, even in her confusion, was trying to cheer her up.

“Your son is certainly very handsome. Why else would I have fallen for him?”

“Oh, listen to you, praising your own husband.”

It was the first time since her husband’s death that the two of them, mother and daughter-in-law, had spoken of him with such joy.

It was because her mother-in-law had forgotten that her son was gone. For a moment, it was as if he were still with them.

Simon looked furiously at his grandfather. Was she for real, or was this all an act?

Edgar had come today expecting a direct confrontation. Although a large part of the Lockwood family fortune had been earned by Grace, the foundation of their wealth was his family’s ancestral property.

By his logic, everything they had was his. He had planned that if Grace agreed to let his grandson Simon inherit the presidency of the Lockwood Group, he might graciously allow her to live out her days here. If she refused, he would throw her out.

But he never expected that the old woman would show no emotion upon seeing him, and instead try to throw him out.

Things had become complicated. He might have the name, but after fifty years, this was Grace’s domain. If she really wanted to kick him out and deny his grandson the inheritance, it would be an ugly fight.

Now, however, she had become confused from the shock. That changed everything. He couldn’t fight her head-on anymore. He would have to play along.
