"Mr. Fairchild, I can just rent an apartment. These properties are worth millions. I can't possibly accept!"
"Why can't you? You cured my chronic illness. One house is nothing; even ten wouldn't be enough to repay you."
"Mr. Fairchild, I really can't. I'll just find a real estate agent later and rent a place."
Old Mr. Fairchild continued to stare at Natalie until she started to feel awkward. After a long moment, as if making a great concession, he said, "Natalie, my final offer is this: you can borrow the house to live in. You cannot refuse!"
Natalie knew this was Old Mr. Fairchild's way of showing he cared, and refusing again would only upset him.
"In that case, thank you, Mr. Fairchild."
"That's my girl."
After Old Mr. Fairchild dropped Natalie off at the villa he had arranged for her, he immediately called his grandson.
"You brat, I've found a wife for you. Get your butt back here. She’s filing the papers tomorrow."
A rebellious voice answered from the other end of the line.
"Are you serious, old man? You want me to marry some woman I've never even met tomorrow?"
"No, *she's* getting divorced tomorrow."
"Old man, are you feeling okay?"
"Perfectly fine. She's the one who cured my illness. Her medical skills are incredible."
"Whoa... old man, just because someone cured your illness doesn't mean you have to offer up your grandson as tribute."
"What are you talking about, you kid? I've met countless people in my life. I know what I'm doing. My judgment is never wrong!"
"Your judgment isn't wrong, your eyesight is just failing you in your old age!"
Darren said impatiently, "That's enough. We need to figure out how to solve the current crisis."
His face was grim. He hadn't expected things to turn out like this either. Because of Natalie, the Cross Group was in utter chaos.
"It's all Natalie's fault. I really underestimated that country bumpkin. How on earth did she get Old Mr. Fairchild to stand up for her? She's got some real skills. I really misjudged her."
Though Victoria was being sarcastic, her words still made Marie uncomfortable.
Marie said contemptuously, "Youth has its advantages, I suppose. I never thought Natalie would be so shameless as to seduce Old Mr. Fairchild behind our backs. They must have had something going on for him to show up and force Darren into a divorce."
Victoria's eyes lit up as if she had just had an epiphany.
"So that's it! That woman is absolutely shameless. She was secretly hooking up with Old Mr. Fairchild all along. How foolish of her. He's old enough to be her grandfather. The Fairchilds might be a powerful family now, but the Cross family was on its way to becoming one too. Natalie is so shortsighted! How could she kiss such an old man?"
Victoria continued to disparage Natalie, shifting all the blame onto her, completely oblivious to the fact that the root cause of this disaster was her younger son's affair with her elder son's widow.

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
