Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 804

“No. I’m the one who dragged you into this. I have to see it through with you. You must be hungry. I’ll take you to get something to eat.”

Darren had already returned all the funds to the Everhart Group and was now practically penniless. He could only take Angela to a cheap roadside stall.

“With the money I have now, we can only afford noodles.”

“I’ll treat you to something nice,” Angela offered. “I have money.”

“I can’t let you keep paying for my meals. We don’t know how long this will take. We need to save what we have.”

Angela knew Darren was preparing for a long fight.

“You probably won’t like a place like this. Why don’t you find somewhere else to eat? As for me, noodles are all I can afford.”

With that, Darren walked toward the noodle shop. He figured Angela wouldn't follow him in to eat noodles. After all, she was a pampered princess who had been raised in the lap of luxury.

During the time the Cross Group was bankrupt, he had endured his share of hardship and understood that life was difficult for everyone. Angela’s investment had rekindled his hope and fighting spirit. He had planned to make a grand comeback, but it seemed his ambitions were doomed before they could even take flight.

“One bowl of plain noodles.”

Darren walked in and ordered, but then he heard a voice from behind him.

“Make that two bowls of plain noodles.”

Angela sat down across from him. Darren looked at her, surprised.

“You’re going to eat noodles?”

Angela felt a lump form in her throat.

Darren didn’t blame her at all. Even after everything that had happened, he spoke to her so calmly, without a trace of anger.

It was the Everhart Group that had broken its promise. Even though the Aurelius Dominion Group had canceled their collaboration with the Everhart Group, the fault still lay with them for backing out.

Yet Darren had returned the investment funds without hesitation and didn’t blame her in the slightest. The kinder he was, the worse Angela felt.

Just then, Angela picked out the beef from her bowl and placed it in Darren’s.

“Eat more,” she said. “You won’t have the strength to keep waiting if you don’t eat properly.”

Darren looked up at Angela, said nothing, and ate the beef she had given him.
