Once back in her room at Whitestone Lodge, Vivienne locked the door behind her. She sat on the bed, absentmindedly cradling Little Stray while scrolling intensely through her phone.

Cyril had actually investigated her! He had managed to track down all fifty-two of her burner accounts!

Staring at the data logs in her hands, a chaotic mess of conflicting emotions churned in her chest.

She had been wondering why someone as meticulous as him would leave something that crucial lying out on his desk. It was almost as if he was waiting for someone to find it. And as it turned out, he was specifically waiting for her.

"But why would he do that?" she whispered.

She propped her chin on one hand, her fingertips lightly tapping against Little Stray's shell in a steady rhythm.

Cyril was terrifyingly sharp. He had undoubtedly realized that she was digging into Dorian and Serena Lowe. Yet, instead of exposing her to his father, he deliberately laid his cards out for her to see. What game was he playing?

Little Stray, utterly annoyed by the constant tapping, poked his head out and snapped weakly at his own shell.

Right as she was sinking deeper into her confusion, Bianca's frantic voice echoed from the ground floor.

Vivienne padded over to the window barefoot, leaning out to call back. "What's wrong? Why are you shouting?"

Bianca stared up at her, her face pale with urgency. "Something terrible has happened." Without waiting for a response, she bolted up the stairs.

The moment Vivienne opened the door, Bianca grabbed her wrist and dragged her back into the room. "Vivi, it's a disaster." Her hands shook as she pulled up a video on her phone.
