Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 620

Four exquisite dishes and a soup were laid out on the table, the aroma mouth-watering.

Vivienne patted Mina's shoulder. "Let's eat."

"I'll go get the bosses," Wesley said. He arranged the silverware, hurried down the hall, and started knocking on both doors simultaneously. "Boss, Boss Cyril, dinner time."

Mina helped serve the rice while Vivienne poured water. Just as they sat down, Cyril and Alaric walked out one after the other.

Vivienne glanced over and froze.

Alaric had changed into a yellow gradient cashmere sweater paired with black casual pants and white sneakers with yellow accents. Standing there, he looked like a fresh-faced idol ready for his stage debut.

What was going on?

Before she could process it, Cyril—dressed in head-to-toe black—walked right past Alaric and took his seat.

Vivienne noticed Cyril had changed clothes too. He was draped in absolute black; only his socks were white.

"..."

She somewhat understood, but at the same time, she didn't. She silently looked at Mina. Mina forced a pained, awkward smile, turned her head, and lightly slapped her own mouth.

Stupid mouth. Why did you have to say anything?

The entire meal was eaten in absolute silence.

After dinner, Wesley cleared the table, and Moira brought out a fruit platter. With nothing else to do, Cyril and Alaric sat in the living room and started a game of chess.

One played aggressively, the other methodically. The pieces clicked against the board in a quiet but fierce battle.

Vivienne grabbed a strawberry, her eyes glued to the contrast of black and yellow. Since when did these two get along so well?

Unaware of the underlying tension, Mina looked on with envy. "You guys have such a great dynamic."

Vivienne let out a dry laugh. Yeah, just wait until the rival family branches start fighting. The dynamic gets even better when they start aiming for headshots.

As they were talking, the doorbell rang.

Moira came out of the kitchen to answer it. Seeing the visitor, she paused.

"Mr. Blackthorne, please come in."

After a moment of hesitation, she respectfully ushered him inside.

Mina turned to Vivienne. "Is there somewhere we can talk privately?"

Vivienne looked at Cyril.

Cyril nodded and called out, "Moira."

"Please follow me," Moira said, leading the two of them into the adjacent study.

With the interruption handled, Cyril and Alaric resumed their chess game.

The more Vivienne watched them, the more suspicious she became. She rubbed her chin, walked over to the chessboard, and sat cross-legged on the floor. She tilted her head to look at Cyril, then at Alaric.

"Hold on. How did Theron find us so fast?"

Cyril, about to advance a pawn, paused. Alaric, reaching for his water glass, stopped mid-air.

A sharp gleam flashed in Vivienne's eyes. "Did you two tip him off together?"
