Vivienne tapped her fingers against the armrest, falling silent for a moment before looking up at Jasper. "Wheel me over there. Have them wait outside."

Jasper hesitated briefly before nodding. He signaled the bodyguards, who immediately secured the entrance to the corridor.

Serena felt a bitter pang of jealousy watching Vivienne command Jasper with a single sentence. Having lived at the Obsidian Estate, she knew exactly what that level of authority meant.

"I didn't expect the old man to favor you this much."

Vivienne had no patience for her nonsense. "Spit it out. Why did you go to Vindrell City?"

Serena had reigned in her emotions by now, her tone softening considerably. "Vivienne, I'm your biological mother. Why do you have to be so hostile toward me?"

Vivienne gave her a flat look and prepared to wheel herself away. Serena's expression shifted, and she quickly stepped in her path.

"Do you know why Caspian took you in?"

Vivienne tapped her fingers.

"Because of your grandmother. He had a history with her. He thought you were Cynthia's granddaughter, which is why he took you in."

Serena leaned in, a triumphant gleam in her eyes. "Tell me, if Caspian found out you weren't Cynthia's granddaughter, do you think the Ravenshire family would still want you?"

Vivienne stiffened, a dark undercurrent swirling in her eyes as she stared coldly at the woman.

Serena smiled and patted her shoulder. "Don't panic. I'm not like you. I wouldn't intentionally ruin your life. Provided, of course, that my own life is comfortable."

When Vivienne didn't respond, Serena pressed on. "I hear Talia treats you well. You've got some nerve, kicking your own mother out of the house just to suck up to Talia. I worked so hard to secure my place with Stanford, and you just destroyed it. Don't you think you owe me some compensation?"

"Talia has endless money. Since she's claimed you as her daughter, she must have given you plenty of perks. Five million dollars. Just give me five million, and I promise to keep my mouth shut and stay out of your way. Otherwise..."
