"It's Isabella," Alexander said flatly.

Greg froze, barely believing his ears. "Isabella? With your uncle?"

Alexander lowered his head in silence.

Greg was stunned for a long moment before the fact finally sank in. Who could have imagined Isabella and Theodore together? After all, they were from completely different worlds. How did they even end up together?

He scratched his head, utterly baffled, and finally guessed wildly, "Could your uncle have known about you and Isabella and deliberately broken you two up?"

"No way. Uncle Theo wouldn't care about stuff like that. He has no reason to."

Greg thought for a moment. "Maybe he just wanted you to marry Natalie? Does your family have a business connection with hers?"

Alexander looked annoyed. "He wouldn't care. It's my mom who wants me to marry Natalie. Uncle Theo never interferes."

Greg's curiosity grew. "Then how did he even meet Isabella?"

Alexander frowned. Recalling the conversation between Isabella and Margaret, he wondered if her parents had actually sold her to Theodore.

"Alex, wasn't it your uncle who first found out that you and Isabella were together?" Greg suddenly asked.

Alexander jerked his head up to look at him.

Greg continued, "I remember you told me back then you were terrified of your uncle. You worried for days after he found out. So he must have known Isabella since then, right?"

Alexander frowned, remembering the incident.

Greg, getting more and more incredulous, guessed further, "Could it be that he's fallen for Isabella since then?"

"Impossible!" Alexander shot back immediately.

"Why?"

"We were only 18! Uncle Theo always warned us not to be in a relationship too early! Isabella was just a kid to him back then. There's no way he could…"

He forced himself to suppress his anger, trying to keep his voice calm. "Mom, I don't want to talk about this right now! If there's nothing important, I'm hanging up!"

"Don't you dare! Alexander, Isabella is with Theodore now! Things aren't like they used to be. Can you snap out of it?"

"Mom, how do you know about me and Isabella? Back then… Did you have something to do with it? Did you have a hand in Isabella suddenly breaking up with me?"

His voice grew more agitated, as if uncovering a hidden truth.

At this point, Amelia didn't bother hiding anything. She said plainly, "Yes, I reached out to Isabella back then. But if it only took a few words from me to drive you apart, it just proves you two were never meant to be together!"

"Mom! Why? Why would you do that?" he shouted.

Amelia replied coldly, "She never truly loved you! She only cared about your money! Isabella is such a calculating woman. Otherwise, why would she be with Theodore now?

"Besides, Theodore was the one who told me about everything that happened back then. Alex, do you really think your uncle has been good to you? Don't be naive."

Alexander froze at her words.
