Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 52

Alexander stormed back into his office. Not long after, he came out again, carrying a stack of documents, heading straight for Isabella.

Isabella frowned, wondering what he was up to this time.

"Look for yourself," Alexander said through gritted teeth.

Isabella picked up the stack and glanced through it. "Is this the villa my parents got tricked into buying?"

It seemed that Margaret hadn't lied to her about being conned.

"Yes," he answered.

She looked puzzled. Why was he showing her this?

"Do you know who ended up with that money?" he asked.

Her expression darkened with confusion. She had just learned about this herself and hadn't pieced everything together yet.

"Uncle Theo," he supplied.

Isabella's eyes widened in shock. How did it end up in Theodore's hands?

Alexander let out a cold, almost gloating laugh. "Aren't you surprised? Uncle Theo knew your parents were about to get swindled by the Erickson family, but he didn't stop it. He only acted after the deal was done.

"As the head of the Sinclair family, one word from him could crush a thriving company. If the Ericksons hadn't handed over that money, they wouldn't have been able to leave the country!"

So there was a hidden story behind it all.

Seeing her remain silent, Alexander's anger softened a little. He sarcastically asked, "Now you see how devious he is, right? He never told you this, did he? Isabella, stop being so naive. Uncle Theo's been planning to get close to you from the start!"

She only nodded indifferently.

Alexander got even more frustrated and raised his voice. "What's with that reaction? Aren't you mad?"

She shook her head calmly. "I'm not."

"You—"

She continued, "That money was his to start with. Otherwise, do you think my parents could have pulled together enough to buy a villa?"

Vivian typed, "They even say SunnyBite's earlier pieces had real talent in them, and that we shouldn't let one mistake ruin someone with so much potential."

Isabella was speechless. "Which works? I never noticed any."

After the plagiarism scandal, she had gone through SunnyBite's work herself, trying to prove her own innocence. But she hadn't found a single piece worth a second glance.

Vivian then sent a few images to her, and she almost laughed out loud. "Who said that? Tell them to donate their eyes since they're wasted anyway."

Vivian sent a laughing emoji and said, "Bella, honestly, your casual sketches are hundreds of times better! With her level, I don't even know where her fame came from."

Isabella thought, "She probably bought it."

But she held back from typing it out.

Vivian continued, "Honestly, Bella, I think you'd make a better apprentice for Glamoore! Your style is really similar!"

Isabella smiled and replied, "Really? But I think he's not qualified to be my mentor."
