Theodore was still rather worried. "You have a fever. Are you really alright?"
Isabella was panting heavily. "You're very warm too…"
Her long legs tightened involuntarily around Theodore's calves—an instinctive reaction.
Theodore lifted his head to reveal the desire swimming in his gaze. Isabella felt her heart beat faster at the sight of his fraying control. He had lost his usual maturity and calmness, yet she was willing to give herself to this more open Theodore.
"I'll get a condom," he said.
They had only agreed to be married for a year, so they had to take the appropriate safety measures. Isabella had agreed to these measures, but she had almost forgotten about them in the heat of the moment just now.
Fortunately… Theodore remembered.
When she saw him bite open the condom package while staring at her with hungry eyes, she felt her face grow so warm that she was practically burning despite her attempts to relax.
Theodore leaned down to whisper close to her ear, his gentle voice sounding attractively hoarse. "You look so beautiful when you blush, Bella."
She wrapped her arms around his neck in embarrassment and replied coquettishly, "Hurry up…"
Theodore immediately reacted as if he had received a command, going hard and fast.
Tears reflexively gathered in the corners of Isabella's eyes. She found herself drowning in the intensity of Theodore's love, her slender body moving along with his. She was completely addicted to the experience.
It was no wonder so many people fell head over heels in love. The feeling of being the only two people in the world… was truly wondrous.
She didn't know how long they had made love to each other, but when she next woke up from thirst, it was still dark outside. She didn't know what time it was, but she was sore all over. She couldn't lift her arms, and her legs felt like jelly.
What a terrifying man! She almost thought she was going to die last night! Still, thinking back to every moment of their coupling made her heart race and her face blush.
At that moment, Theodore walked in through the door. When he saw Isabella awake, he quickened his pace and approached the bedside. He gently touched her forehead before asking, "Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere? You've been having a fever all this while."
Isabella shook her head and said, "My whole body aches, but I think it's because of you and not my cold."
He chuckled before apologizing sincerely, "Sorry, it's my fault. I couldn't control myself."
She snorted lightly before asking, "What time is it now? Why do I feel like I've slept for a long time, yet it's still dark outside?"
What she actually wanted to ask was why the sun hadn't risen yet when she and Theodore might have gone at it for several hours.
Theodore smiled and replied, "You were asleep the entire day. It's now 8:00 pm."
"W-What?"
The look in his eyes told Isabella that it really bothered him. In truth, she could understand his perspective. Men were prideful creatures, and any man would feel uncomfortable about others knowing that his own wife had once been with his nephew, even if they were only in a contractual marriage.
"Okay."
"Then… let me carry you downstairs for dinner."
"It's alright. I can handle myself—"
Before she could even finish playing tough, Isabella almost fell headfirst to the floor. Fortunately, Theodore caught her in time. He proceeded to pick her up in a princess carry before she could react.
As they headed downstairs, she still couldn't help but ask curiously, "What did you say when you were requesting for leave, then? I need to know so that I can write it down when I submit the official form tomorrow."
Theodore cleared his throat uncomfortably and replied, "I told him that you were too tired last night to come into work today."
Isabella was speechless for a moment.
"You… You…"
Theodore smiled slyly. "I couldn't help wanting to show off in front of your ex."
