Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 66

Isabella looked up at Theodore.

Theodore didn't look at her, but he didn't sit next to Queenie either. Instead, he pulled out a chair next to Isabella and sat down before immediately spooning a fried egg from his plate onto hers.

"You've lost weight recently. You need to eat more."

Isabella glanced smugly at Queenie. When she spoke to Theodore, she also intentionally pitched her voice higher to ask coquettishly, "How could I have lost weight? On the contrary, I was wondering if I'd gained weight recently! I'll have to weigh myself later."

He took a sip of milk, then replied, "There's no need for that. I could already tell that you lost weight when I carried you last night."

Isabella was left speechless.

Queenie looked like she wanted nothing more than to glare a hole through Isabella, but she somehow restrained herself. She said with a flirtatious lilt, "Can I hitch a ride in your car later, Theodore? I just returned from abroad, so I'm still not familiar with the traffic rules here…"

Theodore lifted his head. Instead of directly answering Queenie's question, he looked at Isabella and asked, "Queenie wants to go out and settle some affairs, Bella, and it happens to be along my route. Does Mrs. Sinclair approve of letting her hitch a ride?"

Isabella was once again stunned speechless. Had Theodore… suddenly become discerning after a night's sleep?

Queenie's expression darkened with fury at Theodore's words. No longer able to keep up her polite act, she tossed her cutlery onto the table and asked mockingly, "Do you have to go that far, Theodore? I'm just hitching a ride. Is it necessary to ask her permission for something like that?"

He replied nonchalantly, "Of course. After all, the front passenger seat is my wife's exclusive seat."

Isabella felt as if she had won the lottery. Theodore had actually taken the initiative to draw clear boundaries between himself and Queenie!

Queenie scoffed coldly. "We didn't see each other for a few months, and it's like you've become a completely different person, Theodore! You're not telling me she's more important than I am, are you? How long have you two even known each other?

"We've gone through thick and thin together! How can your relationship with her compare to ours?"

Isabella looked blankly at Theodore, stunned.

Theodore had already finished his breakfast at this point. He took out a handkerchief and wiped his hands, then looked up at Queenie. When he spoke, his voice was gentle but firm.

He replied in a tone that tolerated no argument, "I regard you as a friend, Queenie. My best friend. We've been through a lot together, and I'm grateful for the past memories we share. If you cherish our friendship just as much as I do, then please respect my wife as well."

Queenie turned and snapped sharply, "Don't get conceited, Isabella! Do you really think he'll always treat you like this? A latecomer like you who butted in out of nowhere will never be able to overshadow my long-standing chemistry with Theodore!"

For just a few seconds, Isabella had felt a little sorry for Queenie, but hearing her say all this soothed her conscience again.

She picked up a napkin and wiped the corners of her mouth before replying leisurely, "Chemistry will fade with time, just like how you were unable to tell that he was rejecting you just now. Instead of seeking attention, Queenie, why not think long and hard about your future plans?"

"You—"

Queenie was at a loss for words. Isabella's composure made her feel even angrier, but she simply couldn't find the words to refute her.

Isabella, on the other hand, stopped paying attention to Queenie. After tidying up, she got ready to leave the house.

Queenie bellowed furiously from behind her, "Isabella Moore! Do you think he genuinely loves you? Dream on! Don't assume he likes you just because he treats you tenderly! He's like that with everyone!"

However, Isabella just left without a word.
