"Queenie, Isabella is my wife. I trust her. Also, I hope that you won't make things difficult for her moving forward. I don't wish to see the same thing from today happening again in the future."
Upon saying that, Theodore hung up.
Queenie didn't even hurt herself that badly at the mountain villa today. Yet, she had Yannick and the others look for Theodore. Theodore, showing friendly concern, had gone to check on her anxiously, only to find them chortling away as a group.
"I told you, Queenie. Theo cares about you!"
"Just look at how worried Theo is."
"Don't worry, Theo. Queenie is fine. It's just a minor injury!"
While the few of his friends chuckled at their joke, Theodore knitted his brows together. He bent forward to check on Queenie's foot, only to discover that she wasn't badly hurt. In fact, it was just a minor scrape. If he had come over a little later, she would've already recovered from her injury!
"Did you think this is funny?" Theodore questioned frigidly as he scanned the crowd.
"Just because of this prank of yours, I left Isabella behind all on her own. Was this what you people intended?"
When everyone noticed that Theodore was outraged, they hung their heads low, too afraid to make a sound.
Meanwhile, Queenie stood up with anger and grievance in her eyes. She walked to Theodore's side and looked at him in disbelief. "It's just a prank, Theodore. Do you have to react like this? Plus, no one forced you to leave Isabella there on her own. At the end of the day, doesn't that just mean that you don't care for her enough?"
"Queenie Klein!" Theodore raised his voice. Clearly, he was infuriated.
It made everyone else all the more afraid to make a sound. They were well aware of how severe the consequences were once Theodore's anger hit the roof.
Queenie fell silent too. Then, she softened her tone. "I'm sorry. We went too far with our prank."
At first, everyone gathered together excitedly to have fun. In the end, the situation ended up like this.
When Theodore returned to where he came from, Isabella was nowhere to be seen. It was only after asking a worker nearby that he learned that she had left.
When he called her, her phone was off the whole time. After rushing home, he realized that she wasn't there.
Just as he was about to head out to look for her, he received that call from Queenie. After hearing Queenie say that Isabella and Alexander were together, his emotions were affected. After all, he had always been bothered by the pair's history.
Nevertheless, he chose to trust Isabella.
At this moment, his phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was a call from the Sinclair residence.
In the years he lived abroad, most of the Sinclair family's matters were handled by his sister-in-law, Amelia.
She had been casually sipping on her tea by the side while the maid was on the call with Theodore.
The maid answered respectfully, "Mr. Theodore said that he'll be back shortly. In that case, I'll go and prepare a few more dishes, Ms. Amelia."
"Why should you do so?"
Amelia set down her teacup and rose to her feet. Sarcastically, she continued, "It's not like he's a VIP. Just do what you normally do. Oh, and by the way, you don't have to wake Alexander up for dinner, lest he acts like a crazy drunk again."
Upon saying that, Amelia strutted upstairs, swaying her hips from side to side along the way. Despite being a woman in her 40s, that slender figure of hers was comparable to that of a young woman.
Not only that, but she carried an air of elegance about her. It was also clear from her bearing that she had experiences under her belt that regular women didn't.
When she got to the top of the stairs, she was suddenly reminded of something. She asked, "Where's Isabella?"
"Ms. Isabella was in Mr. Theodore's room upstairs. I stopped her from leaving, just like you instructed. She went over to the front yard earlier."
"Alright. Keep your eye on her. Make sure she doesn't come up to the second floor."
Alexander's room was on the second floor.
