Chosen Just To Be Rejected by Jennifer Francis novel Chapter 30

Parker

He couldn’t believe what Carina had done, barely 10 days after he’d taken Belladonna’s picture down from his company page, he hadn’t yet announced that they were getting divorced, and Carina had pictures of him and her in the socialite pages of the local newspaper. There was even a quote from her “I love Parker so very much, and our wedding will be big and lavish.”

It was a photo of them together. She’d been all pressed up against him, her lips had been on his, taken inside the packhouse; he’d not even known someone had taken a photo of them. He’d retracted it as quickly as he could.

But it was too late. He’d not known about it until it was too late, it had taken all of an hour from that photo of them being released to the human world, for him to start taking hits. Called an adulterer, because there

was no divorce seen from his wife Belladonna. His PR team were fielding calls all over the place, and were

at this time stating no comment because he had no idea how to deal with it.

Carina and her father both knew that he was going to wait a year before announcing her as his wife, so

there was a gap between her and Belladonna. The mere mention of his former Mate’s name had started

an argument with Carina. She’d yelled at him about not wanting to hear that she–wolf’s name.

That she’d told him this already, it was a common courtesy not to say it. Yelled about why did he have to

go and bring her up. Why couldn’t he just smile for the humans and state “I love Carina, and she’ll be getting the biggest and most lavish wedding there is.”

Then, the following day, there were questions raised about where Belladonna was. No one could find her. What had happened to her? Had Parker, sent her away to take up with his mistress, a 20–year–old model.

Then more articles had come out and about Carina in not such a good light.

They’d dug into her, she was from a well–to–do family but only competed year 12, but had not gone on to university, got called a gold digger for attaching herself to a married man 23 years older than she was. To which she herself had told them she was a model for Lustre Inc.

That had blown things out of proportions even more, and his stocks were taking a hit because they had actually found out she wasn’t a model with his company. Until after she’d been found out to be in a relationship with him. One of them had stated “Parker Hartly’s gold digging mistress, made a model by her sugar daddy, after ousting his loyal wife of eight years, a Dr of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Where is Belladonna Harrington?”

He was sitting in his boardroom fuming, he was now a sugar daddy as well as an adulterer. His company shares were dropping drastically, and there was nothing he could do about it.

He had to respond to the press, it was all he could bloody do, put out a blanket statement via his PR team, because he wasn’t going out there to listen to all the rude and crude things that were being stated about himself, he’d likely lose his temper and roll his Alpha Aura at them all, and that would out the Wolfen Kind

to them.

That statement read simply, that he and Belladonna were divorced. It had been done quietly because there was no animosity to it. That she had simply taken a job in another state and moved herself away. That he hadn’t kept track of his ex–wife, because why would he? That the divorce was finalised, and they were officially over before he’d started seeing Carina.

They didn’t much care for that statement either, because no one could find the divorce papers, or

Belladonna herself to confirm this, and they wanted that; her opinion on this, there were comments about

what had she gotten in the divorce. Others commented that there was no way a man as wealthy as he

was, hadn’t wound up in court even if there was a prenup.

Bella should have gotten part of his estate or a large monetary sum from him, the press would have been

all over that, went on about it was a lie, that he’d shipped her off out of the country, and they were back to

Chapter 30 1

He’d had no choice but to pull Carina in for her first photoshoot with Lustre Inc. and she was not at all ready to be out there as a model either. She might be blonde and pretty, but there was more to modelling than a pretty face. She didn’t understand how to pose, and didn’t like the products she was advertising, didn’t like being told what to do by the human director of the photo shoot.
