Claimed by the Crown Heir novel Chapter 24

Elaine discreetly glanced at Vanessa, who had remained perfectly silent and expressionless. Her brow furrowed slightly.

Since when was she this docile?

In the past, she had been arrogant, stubborn, and absolutely hated being told what to do.

Back when she was arranged to join the Howard family, she had walked out without a second thought for the consequences.

"George, Vanessa just returned. She lacks practical experience and doesn't understand the current market. Placing her straight into the Vice President role will inevitably spark resentment among the staff. Why not reconsider and let her start from the ground floor?"

She didn't want Vanessa anywhere near the company's core operations. That was supposed to be reserved for her son, Gavin.

George pondered this, realizing she had a point. If Vanessa was going to secure her spot as VP, she needed to earn the absolute respect of everyone in the company.

"Vanessa, what are your thoughts?"

Vanessa smiled faintly. "I think Elaine makes a fair point. Parachuting straight into the VP seat and handling the company's core would likely make people question your judgment and refuse to follow my lead. I'm willing to start at the bottom and prove myself."

Hearing this, a smirk tugged at Elaine's lips.

At least the girl knew her place and had some self-awareness.

She just had to ensure Vanessa made a few strategic mistakes so she couldn't get promoted. That way, she would never threaten Giselle's standing in the company.

Giselle couldn't wait to interject. "Dad, since Vanessa agrees, let's just settle it, okay?"

There was no way Vanessa was going to show up and immediately outrank her!

"No. Putting Vanessa at the entry level is a massive waste of her talent!" George rejected the idea outright, before suddenly remembering something. He had an idea.

"Recently, the Grant Group has been fighting for the North American exclusive distribution rights for the premier Italian luxury jewelry brand, Vittini. This is the company's core international project this year. The brand has incredibly high standards for their partners' professionalism and premium resource networks, making this a very tough deal to close. Between you and Giselle, whoever secures this contract first will be named Vice President."
