Giselle stormed into George's home office, her face flushed with grievance as she began her accusations.
"Dad, how can you play favorites with Nessa? Am I not your daughter too?"
The thought of Vanessa's luxury shopping spree today, which easily totaled millions of dollars, ate at her. Meanwhile, Giselle had bought a single designer bag that practically drained her monthly allowance.
She was convinced her father was secretly funneling money into Vanessa's accounts. How else could she afford to blow millions without blinking?
George slowly lifted his gaze from the documents on his desk, a hint of displeasure settling between his brows. "Giselle, what are you throwing a tantrum about this time?"
He knew that, emotionally, he was slightly more partial to Vanessa—the girl had lost her mother at a young age, and her quiet, sensible nature always made him want to protect her. But when it came to finances, he was strictly impartial. He gave both his daughters a monthly allowance of three hundred thousand dollars and never favored one over the other.
"Nessa throws around millions like it's nothing, and I only get three hundred thousand a month! It's not fair! You need to raise my allowance!"
"Vanessa's allowance is exactly the same as yours. I have never gone behind your back to give her a single extra cent," George explained with strained patience, his fingers subconsciously drumming against the mahogany desk.
"Then did her money just fall from the sky?" Giselle didn't believe a word of it, her tears falling in fat, pathetic drops. "Even now, you're still covering for her and taking her side! You don't even see me as your daughter!"
"You have the nerve to ask me that?" George's patience finally snapped, his voice dropping to a glacial chill. "Why don't you take a hard look at yourself? Vanessa knows how to manage her finances and make investments. She achieved total financial freedom years ago through her own hard work. And you? All you know how to do is eat, drink, party, and burn through your cash. You live paycheck to paycheck, and now you have the audacity to blame me for being biased?"
Giselle froze, utterly stunned. "I don't believe it! Those are just your excuses! How could Vanessa possibly have the brains for investments?"
"You're being unreasonable!" George frowned deeply, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Get out. Stop giving me a headache."
