Charlotte rushed after Matthew to the room where something had happened.

The moment she saw Natalie, she froze for a long time.

And for once, Natalie had actually been smart.

Charlotte really had no intention of lying.

She told the whole story exactly as it happened.

all.”

Matthew’s half-believing, half-doubting look made Charlotte’s heart sink.

“Whether you believe me or not, what I said is the truth, Matt…’

“Enough!” Matthew snapped, eyes blazing. “Nat is our family’s treasure. We’ve spoiled her since she was little. What right do you have to lay a hand on her? And lock her in a

freezing room? Charlotte, what were you thinking?”
