Chapter 300

“Maximus is going to make your life a living hell tomorrow,” Rania said with a sigh. “Is this really important?”

Eiten had come late in the evening to talk with Rania alone and both of them knew Maximus was pissed with this interruption.

He had seen Eiten a whole day, he didn’t need to see him again before he fell asleep next to his mate; therefore, seeing his royal gamma in front of his door and asked for his mate had irritated the king so bad.

Thankfully, like usual, Rania managed to calm Maximus down.

“I know. He is going to take revenge on me tomorrow, but this is really important,” Eiten said. He was still standing at the door, while Rania stood the other side, still in her bedroom because Maximus didn’t allow her to step out or let his royal gamma to step in.

“What is it?” Rania furrowed her brows. There must be something very important to the point Eiten had to come to her right away, realizing this, Rania’s expression turned very serious.

However, it was not for long because when Eiten spoke, she was speechless with the thing that Eiten said as urgency.

“What?” Rania blinked her eyes in confusion. She assumed, at least, someone was going to die when she saw how anxious Eiten was.

“Why didn’t you meet with Eli and Bella today?” Eiten repeated the question because he thought Rania didn’t hear him clearly in the first place.

“That’s it? That’s the important question that you want to ask me?”

Eiten nodded. “Yes, please, answer that.” His expression was very serious, thus Rania doubted if he was messing around with: her.

“I met with princess Abigail on my way to see Eli and Bella and because I thought it will be too much for her to meet with the princess, I didn’t come to see them,” Rania explained the truth about what she thought at that moment.

Eiten had explained briefly how anxious Eli was with her current status and how people saw her and her baby, therefore, Rania didn’t bring princess Abigail to see Eli. The latter wouldn’t be able to handle the situation and Rania was not a good middle man too.

It would be a very awkward situation and it would be very bad for all of them.

Eiten understood that and he knew Eli wouldn’t enjoy it.

“Oh, thanks heaven,” Eiten said with a sigh of relief. He scratched his head and grinned. He showed his carefree side again. “Okay then, I will not bother you anymore.”

“What? Only that?” Rania raised her brows. She didn’t know whether she had to laugh or smack his head. “You came here in late at night and risk your life only to get that answer? You can wait until tomorrow and avoid pissing Maximus off.”

Eiten shook his head, grinning even wider. “If I do that, I wouldn’t be able to sleep. It will be bad for me. I don’t want to have a sleepless night, Eli would have picked it up and she would have been worried with me.”

*I can’t believe it…” Rania shook her head in disbelief upon hearing Eiten’s explanation. “You are crazy, Eiten.”

“I know. Eiten chuckled happily. “I am worried that you don’t like her and she has done something that offended you. I want you to be best friend with her.”

“Hearing that, Rania laughed. “I am happy to have her as my friend. I like her already even before you met her, you know.”

Eiten pursed his lips because Rania said she liked Eli first than him.

However, before they could continue with the conversation, Maximus had appeared behind Rania and glared at Eiten.

“It’s enough. Go back.”

And the next second, Eiten had the door closed right before his face, if only he leaned his body slightly forward, the door would have smacked him.

“Geez, he is very scary…” Eiten shook his head, but when he walked back to his bedroom, he was all smiling because he was only overthink things. This was not as bad as he thought.

Meanwhile, Rania had to face her sullen mate.

“What were you two talking about?” Maximus crossed his arms, he pressed Rania against the door.

“I think you heard the conversation, my king.” Rania grinned cheekily. “Do you want me to repeat it again?”

“Why did you look so happy when you talked with him?” Maximus leaned his body, until their eyes were on the same level. Rania couldn’t help, but laugh to see the way Maximus interrogated her. In her eyes, her mate was so cute.

“What? Don’t tell me you are jealous of your gamma, Max. You are being ridiculous. He is like a brother to me and he has his own destined mate that he fell head over heels with.” Rania tiptoed and kissed Maximus on the lips. She wrapped her arms around his neck.

Maximus was upset, but of course, he couldn’t reject Rania’s advance when she started the physical contact with him.

He lifted her body, and out of instinct, Rania circled his waist with her legs, as she kept kissing him. She could feel the annoyance within Maximus had slowly decreased.

Rania grinned in their kiss when Maximus pinched her butt.

“Stop smiling like that.” Maximus carried her to the bed and lay her down. She still had her legs wrapped around his waist, preventing him from going away.
