“She….” The color drained from Estelle’s face when the man standing beside her, his expression twisted with horror, told her about my eye color changing to purple. “She is a secr!”

The words escaped her with a sharp, shaky breath. Estelle looked at the man, her hands trembling as she clutched the fabric of her sleeve. “Master. The reason why the Mortias have been trying to create trouble… I think it’s her! The sixth child with the last ability!”

The tension hung in the air the moment she said it. The clown-like man’s expression darkened, the playfulness vanishing entirely. His jaw tightened, and his eyes gleamed with something cold and calculating. “So she really is a Mortia, Keane didn’t lie about it!”

“Yes. I have been trying to access that ability, but I wasn’t born with it.” Estelle walked around me, her footsteps slow and deliberate, her gaze sharp as she scanned me like I was something unnatural, something that shouldn’t exist.

“It will be problematic. If the Mortias get her under their control we will be doomed. We have already killed three of their elders!”

His eyes sharpened further, his lips thinning. “Should we get rid of her?”

“We must. It’s also a matter of time before Cassian arrives. We can’t deal with them.” Her voice was cold, almost emotionless. “Unfortunately, we have provoked two of the strongest races. And she can see the future anytime soon. If she uses her power against us, we are doomed.” She breathed out sharply, as if the thought itself weighed heavily on her chest.

“No wonder she could enter the barrier I put around our people She gritted her teeth in frustration, her face turning a bright shade of red.

“Kill her… Guards!” he screamed, his voice echoing off the stone walls, but Estelle stopped him immediately.

“Stop, Master. I have a plan. Right now, she can win, even against us. My magic doesn’t work on her. She didn’t even flinch when I met her for the first time!”

I sat there quietly as they decided how to kill me, my posture relaxed despite the chains biting into my skin. But-

“Then?” he whispered, his eyes gleaming with violence. “Maybe can tear her throat-!”

“Won’t work. Mortias are fast healers. Within seconds, they can heal themselves.” She objected again, her voice sharp. “Throw her into the Infinite War!”

The corner of her lips lifted into a wicked grin. “I don’t think she is strong enough to fight. She will see hell.”

Infinite hell. I had heard about this before. It was a battle arena where all the rogues and warriors fought against one person. In the Northern Region, the worst and most wanted criminals were sentenced to this kind of death. They died after constantly fighting waves of rogues and warriors, under scorching heat or bone-freezing cold, until their bodies finally gave

“Master! We should get rid of her first. Later, we will use Elle to kill Cassian. If she stays alive, we are doomed.”

Estelle looked desperate as she kept pointing her finger at me. Her breathing grew uneven, her composure cracking. I leaned back into the chair, the chains coated with Wolfsbane and Black Moon Flower oil burning my skin relentlessly.

But the pain became so constant that it faded into the background, like a dull hum I no longer paid attention to.

“If they are sending us to the Infinite Hell, does that mean I can be free?” Rye’s voice echoed sharply in my mind. “They won’t put

“That’s right. But are you sure you can win against all the rogue Lasked calmly.

“Are you underestimating your own wolf, Roana?” she scoffed. We both know we aren’t weak!”

I smirked, leaning further into the chair despite the restraints. “Absolutely. So, shall we get ready for that?

“I’ve been ready since Keane betrayed us. Now I’m thirsty for blood!”

We smirked together while Estelle and her master decided to thow me into the Infinite Hell fighting arena.

Around five minutes later, three guards approached and added other layer of chains, just to make sure I didn’t break free. The cold metal clinked loudly as it wrapped tighter around my wrists and ankles. I barely reacted. However, the thought of Keane telling them that Black Moon Flower was deadly to me, and that they should use it to control me, made my chest ache in a way no poison ever could.

I was happy when he told me he liked me. Not because I was in love with him, but because he was the very first person who ever told me that he loved me.

And it made me question something deeply.

A person who is in love with you… can they really hurt you and use your weakness to control you, just because you didn’t like

them back?
