Watching Landon stride away without a backward glance, carrying that pup in his arms, I was shaking with rage. My perfectly manicured nails dug almost painfully into my palms.
I couldn’t help snapping, “This is outrageous! It’s like the whole world’s gone topsy-turvy! First Natalie, and now Landon. Have they all been cursed by the Moon Goddess?”
Surprisingly, Louisa had calmed down. Leaning against the pillow, her cloudy but shrewd eyes glinted with a calculating light. “Right now, Nathan isn’t the main issue. That adopted pup? Dealing with him is a piece of cake. The real headache is Natalie,” she said coldly.
As she spoke, she fished out her reading glasses and put them on, then tried calling Natalie again. That little brat! She had really gotten too big for her britches!
The phone just kept ringing with no answer. My temper flared up. “Louisa! Natalie only acts so high and mighty because you used to back her up. I think you should assert your authority as the pack’s matriarch and give her a good scolding. Knock some sense into that rebellious head of hers!”
Louisa’s face darkened when she failed to reach Natalie. A hint of annoyance flashed across her wrinkled face. “No matter how sharp-tongued Natalie is, she’s still more useful to the family than you and Anna. I’m old, but I’m not senile. I’ve always known that as soon as Natalie was out of Landon’s sight, that Omega Aaliyah would try to move in… And what do you know? Just as I thought!”
She angrily swiped off the phone screen, oblivious to the fact that the call had already lasted ten seconds.
Every single word of her resentful and calculating rant made its way to the other end of the line.
Natalie’s POV:
Just having parked the car in the basement, I wearily rubbed my temples. The phone rang, displaying Louisa’s number. After a brief moment of hesitation, I answered it. Before I could utter a single word, her calculating and cold-hearted voice came through crystal-clear.
And then the call suddenly ended.
In an instant, I felt a sudden coldness in my heart. Every last bit of hope I’d had for Thorn Pack and that seemingly kind-hearted elder just shattered.
It turned out that everyone in the pack knew about Aaliyah, and I was the only one left in the dark.
All this time, I’d just been a tool. A tool to keep Aaliyah in line, maintain the pack’s false sense of stability, and create value for them. None of them-Landon, Grace, Anna, and even Louisa, whom I’d once truly been thankful to-had ever seen me as an independent, respectable person.

Chapter III Changed My Mind
I’d poured my heart and soul into Landon. Even when Grace and the others disliked me, I’d tried my be to treat them like family and worked hard to keep the family in harmony.
All the feelings I’d given and the efforts I’d made to keep the family at peace probably seemed the r ridiculous and convenient show to them.
My eyes started to sting, but I quickly tilted my head back, holding back thene inders, weak rear. It won’t
worth it.
Taking a deep breath, I let the cool night air fill my lungs, dearing away the last bit of confinion and hesitation. I picked up the phone again and called my assistant. Keeping my voice verdy, I vid. “Co and do something for me.”
When I moved out of the Richardson Estate, I casually grabbed some hair from Nathan, Landon, and Aaliyah. As soon as I had the time, I got my assistant to run an Ancestral Tracking tew
As I’d expected, the results confirmed my suspicion. Nathan was indeed Landon and Aaliyah’s child
