Benjamin downplayed the incredible turn of events, saying, “When I was busy with back-to-back investor meetings, one of the contacts had a connection with a key figure at the Scott Group. They were so impressed by our core project that they offered to invest sight-unseen and sent the contract right over.” It sounded like a stroke of pure luck.
Grace quickly clasped her hands in prayer, thanking the heavens, while Louisa repeated “great” three times, her face relaxing as her wrinkles smoothed. “Benjamin, you nailed it!” she praised.
Then, with a glance at the phone, her tone turned icy. “Now that we’ve got the Scott family in our corner, let’s put Natalie on the back burner. She needs to learn some humility.”
With the Scott family’s support, our confidence soared.
With Aaliyah gone and the company’s future secure, there was no reason for Natalie to keep pushing back.
Natalie’s POV:
After hanging up that revolting call, I freshened up, changed, and headed to the kitchen to whip up breakfast. The inviting aroma of food wafted through the air, mirroring my newfound calm.
As I neared the end of cooking, I went to rouse Leonardo. Just as I approached the guest room door, it swung open from within.
Leonardo stood there, immaculately dressed. His dark shirt was crisp, the collar casually undone to reveal his chiseled collarbone. Gone was the usual stern heir of the Silver-Maned Pack; instead, a laid-back, alluring presence emerged. Even fully attired, he had that irresistible charm.
“Morning,” he greeted, his voice still rough from sleep. His damp, tousled hair softened his otherwise sharp features.
Our eyes locked, and a spark seemed to ignite in the air.
“Morning,” I said, a smile tugging at my lips. “Breakfast’s ready.”
“I caught the scent,” he said, his eyes tracing my form from head to toe before meeting my gaze. “Smells divine.”
Leonardo stepped closer, his cedar-and-cold-spring-scented pheromones wrapping around me like a warm embrace. “What’s on the menu?” he murmured.
“Fried eggs, bacon, a bit of salad, and toast,” I replied, my heart skipping a beat. I dropped my gaze, only to be met with the sight of his open collar and the gentle imovement of his Adam’s apple.
“Sounds good,” he responded, his eyes fixed intently on my face.
Suddenly, Leonardo reached out his hand. The back of his finger gently grazed the edge of my cheek, where there was a tiny, almost invisible oil stain splashed from the frying eggs just now.

His fingertips were warm, and the touch was as light as a feather brushing by, yet it made that small patch of skin on my cheek burn instantly.
“Got something on there,” Leonardo explained in an ordinary tone, as if it were just a casual move. But his deep-set eyes were firmly fixed on me, as if they could suck me in.
I instinctively raised my hand to wipe it off, but he gently caught my wrist.
“All clean,” Leonardo said. Instead of letting go right away, his thumb lightly rubbed the inside of my slender wrist, with an undeniable air of possession. Then he firmly took my hand. “Come on, I can’t wait to taste how good it is.”
With just a few words and subtle gestures, Leonardo had me blushing and my heart pounding like a drum. Being led by his warm, dry big hand towards the dining room, I suddenly felt myself being cherished like someone fragile and dear.
This feeling wasn’t off-putting at all. Instead, it brought a long-lost, deep-seated warmth and sense of security.
