This whole thing had unearthed quite a few of my classmates. They had all stepped forward to testify that I was a true paragon of virtue and academic excellence. In the meantime, Aaliyah’s once-pristine image as the most gorgeous female tutor had gone down the drain.

It never crossed my mind that Aaliyah was the mastermind behind this. But the fact that such detailed exposés popped up in no time strongly suggested foul play.

Who else could be avenging me, if not myself?

I swiveled my head toward Leonardo and called out, “Leonardo.”

“Yeah?” he murmured, his gaze fixed on the road.

“Thanks a bunch.”

At my words, Leonardo darted a quick look at me. Spotting the phone in my hand, he instantly grasped. what I was thanking him for.

“Anyone who messes with you is messing with me. I’m just safeguarding my own turf. I was worried about overdoing it and causing you trouble, so I reined myself in a bit.” Leonardo’s tone remained even, but I detected a depth of feeling and earnestness in his words that were more comforting than any cheesy pick- up line.

My heart felt warm, all gooey and soft. Fearing that my tears would betray me, I promptly dropped my head and said, “You’ve gone to so much trouble for me. I’m at a loss as to how I can repay you.”

“Don’t sweat it. When there’s something you can do for me, I’ll let you know,” he comforted.

I wasn’t certain if Leonardo was just trying to make me feel better, but I couldn’t help cracking a smile.

I stole another furtive glance at Leonardo. The early-morning sunlight traced the sharp contours of his profile. His jaw was set, and his expression was as stoic as ever. Yet, beneath that steely exterior, I sensed a warmth that could thaw the iciest of hearts.

The car glided to a stop in front of the Scott Group’s office building. Leonardo leaned over and casually unfastened my seatbelt.

His deep, velvety voice caressed my ears, laced with an unyielding tenderness. “Wait for me after work. I’ll swing by to pick you up.”

“Sure thing,” I whispered, my heart melting into a puddle of sweetness.

Leonardo’s POV:

Once Natalie’s silhouette vanished through the glass revolving doors, I reached for my phone once more. The screen was filled with several missed calls and urgent reports. Swiftly, I slipped on my Bluetooth earpiece, executed a U-turn in the car, heading back towards the Silver-Maned Pack, and answered the

call.

“Go ahead,” I uttered, my voice immediately regaining that calm and decisive tone typical of work mode. However, this time, there was none of the usual icy chill. In an uncharacteristic move, I even added, “Sorry, I was giving someone a lift.” The person on the other end was clearly caught off guard by this unexpected show of courtesy.

Natalie’s POV:

I arrived at the company brimming with high spirits. I treated all the employees to a cup of coffee. After that, I held a meeting with my meticulously handpicked five-member team and then took them to a nearby Michelin-starred restaurant for lunch.

The lunch was a laid-back and jolly occasion. Lily, relishing her food, gave me a knowing glance and inquired, “Natalie, something great must have happened today! You’re grinning from cheek to cheek. What’s the story?”

“Really?” I paused, instinctively touching my face. Was my joy that evident?

Lily pointed at my mouth and beamed, “Definitely! You’ve been smiling constantly since you walked in this morning. You’re practically shining!”

“Yeah, Natalie,” Mia Mailer, another team member, chipped in, playfully winking. “What’s making you so happy? Is your relationship with Mr. Sanchez getting serious? When’s the Moon Goddess’ vow ceremony?”

The others joined in, good-naturedly ribbing me.

My face turned as red as a beetroot, the heat rising all the way to my ears. “Come on, stop pulling my leg,” I said.

“I think Mia’s onto something. I saw Mr. Sanchez’s car drop you off this morning. I stole a peek through the slightly rolled-down window,” Lily stated seriously.

“No wonder you’ve been looking so radiant lately, Natalie. Love suits you perfectly…
