Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 161

Catheleen believed every word Lambert said. Lambert had a way of making his decisions sound final—like arguing would be pointless. In that moment, all the celebrities she’d ever crushed on just didn’t compare.

She was still really curious, though. She leaned in and asked, “So, do you have a plan? How are you going to get Cammie to stop being scared of you?”

Lambert barely glanced at her. “Quit worrying about my business. And didn’t I tell you before to keep your hands to yourself? Did you forget already?”

Catheleen realized he was still holding a grudge. He hadn’t gotten over her kissing Camilla’s forehead outside the hotel yesterday. She hurried to explain, “Cammie was really heartbroken yesterday. I was just trying to comfort her.”

Lambert’s answer was cold. “Comfort her? You think that means you get to kiss her? Do you even have any boundaries?”

Catheleen shot back, “You know nothing! Women can be so fragile at times like that. If I just hold her or give her a kiss, she actually feels better.”

Lambert didn’t budge. “Is that right? Still not okay.”

He didn’t say it out loud, but the thought still came—sharp and ugly. He hated anyone crossing her boundaries, even when they called it comfort.

Catheleen fought the urge to roll her eyes. She muttered just loud enough to hear, “So possessive.”

Lambert caught her mumbling. “What did you say?”

Catheleen quickly changed the subject. “Hey, I already asked for you! Cammie said you’re amazing.”

That was the first time Lambert’s expression softened. “She really said that?”

Besides, it was rare to see this softer, more thoughtful side of him. Catheleen laughed under her breath. “Cammie, you and Lambert look like you accidentally coordinated.”

The shirt Catheleen called daring looked luxury-level on Lambert. His body was already perfect, and he filled out the shirt in all the right places. Where he was supposed to be solid, he looked powerful, and where he was meant to be lean, he was all muscle. In a suit jacket, you might not notice, but in just a shirt, his broad shoulders and slim waist were impossible to miss. Honestly, he looked even better than those guys showing off in online transformation videos. She never realized a guy’s body could look so good.

And today’s outfit really showed it off. The black cashmere turtleneck fit him perfectly. Even with his abs hidden, you could still see the shape of his chest under the fabric. The shirt made his whole frame look incredible.

While Camilla was appreciating how good Lambert looked, Lambert’s gaze kept drifting back to her. The black sweater threw her features into sharp contrast—clean, striking, effortless in a way that made the room fade.

But as soon as Catheleen mentioned matching outfits, Camilla started to feel awkward. Lambert frowned at the comment. “Don’t talk nonsense.”

Camilla wasn’t even divorced yet. There was no way he’d let anything like that be said aloud.
