Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 234

She had absolutely no interest in whatever suit Camilla was designing for Lambert.

After playing on her phone in sheer boredom for a while, she stood up. "I'm going to the restroom."

Lambert gave a brief nod, then looked back at Camilla. "Continue."

Now that it was just the two of them, the atmosphere shifted. Even though they weren't in a private room, the café's booths had high partitions, making their corner feel like an isolated little world.

That suffocating sense of unease crept over her again.

Her fingers curled inward as she discreetly shifted her chair back, distancing herself from the sketches on the table.

Lambert took in her subtle movements without missing a beat.

A sudden urge to tease her flared up inside him.

He leaned forward, closing the distance between them, and pointed at a spot on the drafting paper. "Can this part still be altered?"

His clean, masculine scent suddenly washed over her, completely overpowering the café's ambient fragrance and dominating her senses.

With the distance between them practically erased, their breaths mingled.

Startled, Camilla jerked back.

She pressed herself firmly against the backrest of her chair, putting enough space between them so she could finally breathe again.

Lambert maintained his forward-leaning posture, lifting his gaze to meet hers.

"What's wrong?"

He knew exactly what was wrong.

Camilla could even see the hidden amusement dancing in his dark eyes.

Since when did the calm, aloof Lambert White play jokes?

He knew perfectly well that she couldn't handle his proximity, yet he still did it on purpose...

Camilla felt a surge of panic. Why wasn't Catheleen back yet?

Lambert tapped his knuckles lightly against the table. "What are you thinking about? Zoned out?"

"No," Camilla rushed to answer. "Any detail you find unsuitable can be changed."

Lambert asked, "Is it difficult for you to make a suit for someone you hate?"

Camilla's head snapped up to look at him.
