Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 246

Camilla instinctively raised her arm to fight him off, only to realize it was Lambert.

He had gotten out of the car without her noticing, his large hand wrapping securely around her arm and pinning her in place.

Camilla shot him a frosty glare. "What is the meaning of this, Mr. White?"

"Get in the car."

He stared straight at her, the streetlights reflecting in his eyes, masking the deep emotions swirling within them.

Camilla's voice grew even colder. "I said, it's not convenient."

But Lambert refused to let go, stubbornly repeating his demand. "Get in."

Camilla's temper flared. "Are you deaf? I said I'm not getting in!"

Faust was completely stunned.

It was his first time seeing anyone dare to lose their temper with Lambert.

*This Camilla girl has some serious guts.*

He hurried over, clapping a hand on Lambert's shoulder. "Let the poor girl go first."

Lambert shot him a look but remained silent and unmoving, his grip on Camilla's arm unwavering.

Faust had no choice but to turn to Camilla. "Sorry about him. He's had quite a bit to drink, so he might be a little tipsy. Don't take it personally. Why don't you just get in the car for now?"

Camilla suddenly thrashed, fighting wildly to break free.

Lambert hesitated for a second before quickly releasing her.

He was afraid of hurting her.

Camilla turned and bolted.

Lambert lunged forward to chase her, but Faust yanked him back.

"Do you have any idea how much you've had to drink? You can barely string a sentence together. What good is chasing her down right now? If you have something to say, save it for when you're sober."

Camilla sprinted down the block before finally flagging down a cab.

Once inside, her heart was still hammering furiously against her ribs.

What exactly did Lambert want?

Did he honestly think she was that kind of easy woman?

He was about to get married to secure an alliance, he already had a fiancée, yet he still wanted to mess around with her on the side?

It was ridiculous!

Yet Camilla found absolutely nothing to laugh about.

Not only couldn't she laugh, but an agonizing pain sliced through her chest.

She couldn't understand why God had to be so exceptionally cruel to her.

Or maybe he just wanted to use her body to satisfy his physical desires.

And when he got bored, he would toss her some money, buy her some jewelry, and casually discard her.

She had known from the very beginning that they had no future, so why...

Why did it hurt so badly to know he had a fiancée? Why did it hurt to realize exactly how little he thought of her?

Her initial resistance, rejection, and fear...

Now, they all felt like one massive, pathetic joke.

She desperately wanted to deny it, but she couldn't. She knew the truth—she had shamefully developed feelings for Lambert.

That was exactly why she had told him she hated him earlier that day.

Because she was trying to force herself to back away, and trying to push him away too.

She thought that by saying she hated him and bruising his ego, he would finally walk out of her life for good.

She never expected him to come after her again.

It seemed God wouldn't be satisfied until she was violently confronted with the bloody truth and left thoroughly shattered.

Tears streamed down her face, completely unchecked.

She didn't snap back to reality until her phone began to ring, prompting her to look down.
