Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 305

Camilla froze, her feet glued to the floor.

She didn't even dare turn around.

She silently cursed the massive floor plan of his penthouse. If this were a normal apartment, she would have been out the front door by now.

The weight vanished from her shoulder as Lambert easily plucked the bag away.

Her hand remained gripped in the air where the strap used to be. She still didn't turn around. "I don't..."

When she finally chanced a glance, the rest of her sentence died in her throat.

Lambert didn't have a shirt on. A single white towel hung dangerously low on his hips.

Broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and a gorgeously sculpted chest.

The towel clung to the sharp V-lines of his pelvis, putting his deeply defined abs on full display.

She had seen him like this before. She had even touched him.

But this was the first time she was completely sober for it.

Panic flared in her eyes. Feeling like a thief caught red-handed, she immediately dropped her hand and spun back around, too terrified to look.

Lambert was caught between amusement and fury.

Her flustered reaction was endearing.

Her attempt to run away was infuriating.

"Why look away? It's not like you haven't seen it before."

"P-put some clothes on," she stammered.

"If I go put clothes on, you'll bolt." He was livid. "Camilla, turn around."

"No!" She took a shaky breath, forcing herself to hold her ground. "Mr. White, I'm sorry, but I really don't think it's a good idea for me to stay here."

"So you were just going to sneak out without saying a word?"

"I wasn't..." She struggled for an excuse. "I'm sorry..."

"I don't want your apology." The anger deepened in his voice. "Are you breaking your promise again?"

"No," she insisted. "Can you just put some clothes on first?"

Knowing a half-naked Lambert was standing right behind her made her mind helplessly conjure up images of his abs.

Terror gripped her. "Lambert! Stop, don't do this, I... I can't! You can't!"

He stopped dead in his tracks.

What exactly was going through this woman's head?

Did she seriously think he was about to assault her?

Was that all the trust he had earned?

A dark, suffocating rage washed over him.

If he didn't teach her a lesson now, she would never take him seriously!

Between the blinding anger, the lingering heat from the movie's sex scene, and the intoxicating memory of her touches, his body was already strung tighter than a bowstring.

Finding her trying to escape had only pushed him closer to the edge.

And now she was looking at him like he was a monster.

Furious, he dropped her onto the mattress and instantly followed her down, caging her beneath him.

She thrashed wildly, pushing against his shoulders, but he easily caught her wrists and pinned them above her head.
