Divorce Me I'm Done Serving You (Ayla and Troy) novel Chapter 914

Of course, Blake still believed Herman was someone who always looked at the bigger picture. He had hidden his feelings perfectly for two years. There was no way he would suddenly do something that bold.

After all, both Herman and Blake were the conservative type. They always behaved properly at work and never went looking for thrills by sneaking around behind their coworkers' backs.

Still, Blake reminded him, "The door isn't locked."

Herman glanced at the door. She was right—it wasn't locked.

The next second, he leaned down.

His face moved close to hers. He didn't kiss her, but they were so close they were almost touching.

That almost-kiss distance was even more thrilling.

It was like knowing someone could walk through the door at any second, but not knowing exactly when.

They stayed like that for three seconds. Then Herman straightened up, adjusted his clothes, and said seriously, "Forget it. I should respect Ms. Pope's wishes. I can't do anything inappropriate."

That was complete nonsense.

The moment he got that close, he was already crossing the line.

It wasn't as if it only counted when he actually kissed her.

The most shameless part was how Herman acted as if nothing had happened.

Blake looked at him in surprise. For the first time, she realized he had such a sly side to him.

He still had the energy to create that kind of romantic tension, like a young man.

It really caught her by surprise.

Even though she never said anything out loud, Blake quietly extended the one-month deadline by another week.

That night, she needed to pack for her business trip.

Herman was there too. He helped her check through everything to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything.

He went through her medicine kit and picked out a few emergency medications she might need in case something came up.

Then he noticed there were no painkillers.

Blake's period was due soon, and she always had cramps during the first couple of days. Herman remembered that.

Blake said, "There are pharmacies everywhere. I'll have Kaia buy some after I land."

But as soon as she finished speaking, Herman took a bottle of painkillers out of his own bag.

Blake looked surprised. "Why are you carrying painkillers with you?"

Herman had actually kept them prepared for a long time, but he didn't tell her that. Instead, he gave a reason she would accept. "When I bought medicine for you in Londmere, I got these too. I never got around to giving them to you. Since Kaia already bought some, I just never threw this bottle away."

Blake took the small bottle from him.

Her eyes darkened slightly.

She casually placed it in her medicine kit before looking up at him. "Then thanks."

Herman smiled. "You're welcome."
