That was the house Troy had shared with Ayla for three years. He still remembered her moving throught those rooms and the softness in her eyes when she waited up for him late at night. The person and house were still the same. So why did everything feel different now? How had everything become so unrecognizable?

His lips twitched. He wanted to say something, but he knew if he spoke, it would only be something cruel. It’d only push Ayla harder, making her say even more things he didn’t want to hear. Fear held him back. He kept quiet and held it in.

Seeing him stay silent, Ayla’s held-back tears finally slipped down her cheeks, though her face stayed calm.

She didn’t feel sad, and that tear didn’t mean anything. It just slid down, cold and emotionless, making her seem distant and untouchable.

It was the first time Troy had ever seen Ayla cry. He always imagined her looking fragile or pitiful. But that tear felt like a sharp, icy blade through his chest. All he felt was pain.

Ayla had nothing left to say. She planned to find Laura, ask her to undo the belt tied around her wrists, and

then leave.

But when she turned, she saw Draven standing straight in the doorway

It was Troy’s home. Ayla never imagined Draven would show up here. She was genuinely stunned.

He was still wearing the shirt from tonight’s dinner. Normally, he buttoned it all the way up, but now the top two buttons were undone. It made him look different from his usual refined self-still cold, but somehow even more intimidating. Ayla didn’t dare meet his eyes.

Draven saw her tears.

It was probably his first time seeing her look like that. His hand clenched at his side, his gaze sliding past her to Troy-cold, sharp, and dangerous.

Draven was furious.

Ayla didn’t dare speak. Only Troy could withstand that kind of pressure.

Troy’s expression was just as hard and lethal as Draven’s.

Maybe he already knew how Draven felt about Ayla. So the fact that Draven followed them here didn’t even surprise him.

Indeed, Draven had been a thorn since they were kids. The world would be better off without him.

Troy was too angry to ask how Draven got in. He just said coldly, “Get out.”

His voice was calm but dangerous, ready to blow.

Whenever Troy and Draven were in the same room, unless Martin was around, there was no peace-only

Right now, it felt freezing. Ayla could barely breathe. She wanted to run.

Draven ignored Troy, walking straight to Ayla with a frozen expression.

Under her gaze, he grabbed her arm and untied the belt around her wrists.

Her skin was red and swollen.

She must’ve struggled for a long time and still couldn’t break free. The friction had burst tiny blood vessels, leaving unsightly red marks.

Draven’s eyes were full of anger.

Ayla was closest to him and could sense how drastically he had changed. Her whole body tensed in fear. She wanted to step away, but he held her arm firmly. She couldn’t break free.

Draven looked from her wrist to her face. “Does it hurt?”

Her lashes trembled. She thought he would scold her, but he showed concern. “No,” she said.

He frowned. With wrists that red, how could it not hurt?

But his capable, stubborn secretary didn’t even flinch. She looked like she didn’t care, unbothered by it.

That stubbornness made him ache for her.

That soft ache mixed with burning anger.

Draven pursed his lips, then looked at Troy fiercely.

He might really be furious this time. He released Ayla, tightened his hold on the belt, and moved toward Troy silently,
