Of course, Bria still liked Skyla quite a lot. At least for now, she still found Skyla far more pleasant than Ayla.

She hooked her arm around Skyla’s. “No one would dare bully me!” Bria asked, “Why are you here?”

Skyla said, “I came with Juliet.”

Bria heard a name she didn’t recognize and didn’t care at all. “I’ve still got things to do. I’m heading out first.” Staying any longer would be boring. She still had to go home and seriously think about how to teach Kaleb a lesson.

After saying that, Bria dragged Renee away.

Renee actually wanted to turn back and say goodbye to Ayla.

But they were walking too fast. There was no time.

Ayla had hardly ever had any private, one-on-one contact with Skyla.

Yet at this moment, her mind was full of one question. Why would Aunt Juliet bring Skyla to see Grandma?

It felt like her own territory had been occupied by an outsider.

Lillian’s matters were the Walkers’ business. They had nothing to do with the Summers. Juliet clearly didn’t think so.

That thought lit a flame of fury in Ayla’s chest.

Skyla noticed the anger in her eyes and found it amusing. “Did I piss you off?”

Ayla shot her a cold look, said nothing, and went straight to find Juliet.

Juliet was in Lillian’s room.

When Ayla walked in, she almost slammed the door shut, but Lillian was there, so she held back.

Juliet heard the noise and turned around. Her refined, beautiful face still wore a gentle, elder-like smile.

“Kaleb told me you’d already left. Why are you back?”

Her tone was warm, as if the argument from last time had long been forgotten.

Lillian was watching TV in the sitting area and didn’t notice them.

Ayla walked closer. She was slightly taller than Juliet and looked down at her as she questioned, “Why did you bring Skyla here?”

Seeing the anger in her eyes, Juliet looked concerned. “You’re angry over this?”

Chapter 283 The Fight

Ayla said, “Why?”

“It was on the way. It’s a day off. Skyla just wanted to accompany me shopping.”

Juliet reached out to take Ayla’s hand.

Ayla blocked her. “From now on, don’t ever bring her here again!”

Ayla was extremely forceful. Juliet frowned. “Why are you being so stubborn again? Skyla just came with me. I didn’t even bring her in to see your grandma. Do you really need to get this worked up with me?”

Ayla and Juliet used to be very close. But ever since Juliet married into the Summers, the relationship had slowly faded.

That was Juliet’s choice. Ayla could only respect it.

But in Ayla’s eyes, she was losing Juliet bit by bit. The Juliet who would panic and rush her to the hospital over a small cold was gone. Juliet’s time, energy, and care were gradually taken over by the Summers. The aunt who had protected her since childhood became someone else’s stepmother.

At first, Ayla felt wronged. Now, she had accepted it and no longer consumed herself over it.

But Lillian was the link between her and Juliet. She had nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with the

Summers.

Skyla’s appearance made Ayla feel that the most tightly connected part between her and Juliet had been invaded.

“From now on, don’t bring anyone from the Summers here,” Ayla repeated.

Juliet said, “What’s going on with you? Are you jealous because of Skyla? Troy was like this back then too, and I didn’t see you-”

Ayla suddenly lowered her voice. “This has nothing to do with Troy!”

Juliet paused.

“If you don’t agree, I’ll find Grandma another place.”

Seeing that Ayla was serious, Juliet snapped, “This is nonsense. Her matters aren’t yours alone to decide!”

“Then I’ll call Uncle Hugh back.”

Juliet was furious. “What did I even do to set you off?”

Ayla said, “This is the Walkers’ business! You’re part of the Summers now. No matter how good you are to Skyla or Zane, I won’t interfere, and I won’t care. But your mother is also my grandma. This has nothing to do with the Summers.”

Juliet suddenly understood what Ayla truly cared about. At the same time, she felt Ayla’s subtle possessiveness toward her. It made Juliet pause. “Ayla, do you want me to-”
