Chapter 293 Troy Kept Thinking About Ayla

“This whole week-you set it up just for me?” Draven asked.

Ayla gave a small nod.

Draven held back the urge to pull her into his arms, his gaze growing deeper. “Are you sure this room can only be opened by me?”

Ayla replied, “If I really wanted to go in, I still could.” The system is code-controlled. Write some code, break it, and it will open.

“But relax. I won’t snoop through your private things.”

Draven made a low sound. “I believe you.”

They spent the entire afternoon moving boxes.

That night, Meryll came over to cook and saw Draven again. He wore black loungewear and was pouring a glass of water.

When Draven saw her, he gave her a small nod as a greeting, then went into the study.

For some reason, Meryll didn’t dare talk to him. Partly because she didn’t know him well, and partly because some people just give off a vibe that says whether they’re approachable or not. Draven clearly wasn’t. So she stayed away.

Ayla, on the other hand, was much easier to chat with.

Still, when Meryll came to cook, she rarely saw Ayla. Ayla was always busy, usually locked in the study, with no free time at all.

Meryll went to the laundry room as usual.

There were more loungewear pieces than before. One glance told her they were matching couple sets.

Meryll understood now. Ayla is in love.

She didn’t know why, but the thought made her quietly happy. Maybe it was good news. Her mood lifted, and she even felt more energy while working.

When dinner was ready, Meryll called the two work addicts to eat.

She herself ate in the kitchen.

Curious, she quietly glanced toward the dining table. Ayla and Draven ate without talking much. Draven helped Ayla pour some soup or dishes for her.

He was the kind who took care of others.

Meryll felt glad for Ayla.

After dinner and cleaning up, Meryll left.

It was Ayla and Draven’s first day living together, and both felt a little awkward.

Luckily, they were buried in work, and each went to their own study.

Ayla focused on her paper.

Draven received a call from a subordinate. “Mr. Storm, we caught the people following you and Ayla. They were sent by Troy Winston. All the photos and videos have been erased.”

A week later, the people tracking Ayla disappeared from Isabella’s watch.

However, Isabella still had Ayla’s work schedule for that week. Ayla worked with amazing speed, moving only between home and the office, nothing strange at all.

There was an unexpected discovery. Ayla lived in Westhaven and wasn’t staying with Draven.

When Troy heard this, he was delighted.

Isabella could now be sure that Troy regretted the divorce and hoped Ayla would return.

Just as Isabella was about to report the missing trackers, Troy suddenly had a stomach pain.

She was prepared and handed him the stomach medicine.

Troy’s face was pale, his eyes tight with pain. He pressed one hand to his stomach as he swallowed the medicine.

It would take time to work, so Isabella didn’t rush to leave.

When the pain eased, Troy noticed the familiar brand on the pill box. He froze, looked at Isabella, and asked in a low voice, “Why do you have stomach medicine with you?”

Isabella answered plainly, “Mr. Winston, I asked Laura and put together a first-aid kit, just in case.”

Then she added, “Laura said Ayla used to keep all of this ready for you.”

Troy’s eyes darkened. He picked up the box and stared at it.

He was on a business trip, far from Ayla. There was nothing he could do, but the distance gave him time to calm down and think.

He used to travel for work often and never thought about Ayla. Now she kept showing up in his mind.

Holding the medicine made the memories feel real. The small things Ayla had done for him slowly became clear.

Suddenly, Troy understood. He didn’t need to test whether Ayla had loved him.
