Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 793

The guy was named Jerry Sherman, and the girl was named Matilda Johnston.

Matilda's gaze kept drifting toward Kaleb's profile, her enthusiasm obvious as she interacted with him.

To Bria, it was incredibly irritating. Kaleb's type was popular, that much she knew. It wasn't about who was trying to take him. She just couldn't stand seeing another woman standing so close to him.

It was pure possessiveness.

The emotion churned in her chest.

She'd already taken a hit with Shirley, and now, everything inside her surged even harder.

I knew it. Her plan got exposed too early, and it's done zero damage to Kaleb. Otherwise, he wouldn't be this focused on work right now.

Kaleb is the type who seems cold on the outside but is deeply emotional underneath. Finding out my intentions ahead of time should've hurt him at least a little, but the effect was weak.

If Kaleb isn't hurting, how could I be satisfied?

I should've made him fall for me first, made him completely hooked, and only then stabbed him where it hurt.

Plans never go the way you want.

This time, the blade turned back on me.

Bria stood there watching for a long time, but Kaleb didn't notice her.

It was Matilda who spotted her first and nudged Kaleb's shoulder. Only then did he turn his head and look over through the glass.

Bria's eyes dropped to the spot where Matilda had touched his shoulder.

Damn it. I wish I could put some kind of barrier around him so no one else could get close.

Bria suppressed the cold in her gaze before finally meeting Kaleb's eyes.

Kaleb frowned slightly, his expression flat and distant. He looked at her for a moment, then calmly looked away, as if telling Matilda something like "I don't know her” or "She's not important,” before continuing his interaction with Matilda and Jerry.

Bria saw it clearly. That look in his eyes... It was like he was looking at a complete stranger. No, worse. The faint disgust he hadn't bothered to hide made it clear that, in his eyes, she wasn't even worth that. More like something unpleasant he didn't want near him.

That look cut into her.

Her hand clenched unconsciously.

Over the past few months, Kaleb had never looked at her like that.

Even just a few days ago, his gaze had been gentle.

Emmett could feel the tension between them, the chill radiating off Bria. The air felt suffocating. He didn't even dare move.

That was just how it was with people like them.

When things were good, anyone around them was fine.

But when things turned bad, they didn't sit down and talk it out like normal people.

Kaleb and Bria would only clash head-on, pushing until someone broke.

Personally escorting them too? Bria's hand tightened again.

He read the room carefully. "Kaleb had something come up, so he's not coming back to the office. M-Ms. Winston, you should probably...”

Bria understood immediately. Kaleb was avoiding her.

She had come all the way here, and he was still avoiding her.

She'd waited over two hours for nothing.

Her tone turned sharp with malice. "So this is how Kaleb treats his friends? Leaves you here to deal with someone as difficult as me?”

Emmett didn't know what to say.

Bria rubbed her temples. She looked exhausted, but her presence was still overwhelming. "Just tell me. Where did he go? I'm seeing him today, no matter what.”

Emmett hesitated. "He went to dinner with clients.”

Bria smiled. "Nice choice of words. Clients, huh? You mean Matilda and Jerry.”

Emmett gave an awkward smile. "They are clients.”

Bria stood up and walked over to him, smiling as she patted his shoulder. "Enough talking. Lead the way.”

It felt more like a threat than anything else. Emmett briefly considered warning Kaleb, but judging from how Kaleb had completely ignored Bria today, even if he told him, he'd probably just brush it off.

He dropped the idea and led Bria out to find Kaleb.

It wasn't that he didn't want to refuse. It was just that Bria, right now, was terrifying. If he set her off, she might actually tear the place apart.
