Divorced CEO's Forgotten Wife Strikes Back (Riley and Bryce) novel Chapter 124

**TITLE: Dreams Refuse Gravity by Leo Arden Knox**
**Chapter 124: Toss Their Wedding Rings**

Wren could feel the weight of their stares, her peers’ glances heavy with pity, as if she were nothing more than a discarded mistress, cast aside and forgotten. It was a burden too great to bear!

How dare they look at her with such sympathy? The connection between the Andersons and the Torres family was forged because of her relentless efforts!

She had sacrificed so much, even her own eye, to make this alliance a reality!

And yet, what about Riley? Riley had given nothing, yet she had effortlessly won Quinten’s heart, garnered the admiration of the elder Andersons, and even enjoyed special privileges from Sebastian!

All those accolades, all that attention—those should have been hers!

Wren tugged at the collar of her blouse, feeling the constriction of fabric around her throat as she stepped out of the restroom. Just as she reached the corner of the corridor, a familiar voice reached her ears, causing her to freeze in her tracks.

“Bryce, do you still have feelings for Riley?”

It was Bella’s voice, unmistakable and sharp.

Wren’s heart raced as she peeked around the corner, her breath hitching in her throat. There stood Bella and Bryce, engaged in a conversation that sent a jolt of unease through her.

She recalled with a pang that Bryce was Riley’s ex-husband, a fact that made her stomach twist.

“I’m divorced from Riley. How could I still have feelings for her?” Bryce’s tone was defensive, yet there was a hint of something else—regret, perhaps?

“Then why are you looking for those two rings?” Bella pressed, her voice laced with curiosity and challenge.

Today, she had accompanied Bryce to the Anderson family, hoping to secure a stake in the lucrative island development project. But during their meeting with her uncle, Bryce had suddenly gone pale, muttering an excuse before darting off.

Wren had thought something dire had occurred, only to discover that he was frantically searching for the cheap wedding rings he had once exchanged with Riley.

“I keep them as a reminder,” Bryce murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. “To never mess up another marriage like I did before.”

His words seemed to hang in the air, heavy with the weight of his past mistakes.

That was the only reason he held onto those rings, wasn’t it? It had to be.

“So,” Bella said, her fingers slowly unfurling to reveal the lost wedding rings resting in her palm, “if I promise our marriage won’t end up like that, will you let these rings go?”

“How did you…” Bryce’s surprise was palpable, his eyes widening with disbelief.

“I found them by accident when you were looking for them,” Bella replied, her tone casual yet assertive.

As Bryce reached for the rings, Bella’s fingers closed around them, denying him access.
