“What if the military’s investigation doesn’t turn up any leads on Samuel?” Lara asked.
“Then I’ll go back to the border myself to find him,” Riley said.
Lara sighed. Samuel had been missing for five years, and Riley had already made three trips to the border searching for him.
“I’ll go with you,” Lara offered.
“No need,” Riley said. “I don’t know how long I’ll be there, and you’ve got a company to run. About work, I’ve only just joined the company, and now with my brother’s situation…”
“Don’t worry about that,” Lara interrupted. “Finding Samuel is what matters. Those proposals you’ve given us are worth more than I could have hoped for anyway. I’m just worried it’s not safe for you to go to the border alone.”
Lara knew Riley was skilled, but the border was unpredictable, and she couldn’t help but worry.
“I’ll go with her,” Sebastian said, his tone reassuring. “No need to worry.”
Riley blinked, caught off guard. “I can handle it myse 15:52 Besides. I don’t even know how long I’ll be at the border.”
Chapter 230 1 Go With You
Nebastian gazed tenderly at Riley. “Listen, if you’re looking for your brother, I’m with you. If you’re going to the border, I’m going too, no matter how long it takes, Or do you think I’d let my girlfriend go alone?”
Riley froze, momentarily speechless,
Sebastian gently took her hand. “Or do you think I could stand being apart from you?”
His fingertips brushed lightly against her palm, like a teasing
caress.
Riley’s cheeks flushed slightly. With Lara and Vince still there, she felt a twinge of embarrassment.
Lara chuckled, “Alright, alright. With Mr. Torres going with you, I won’t worry anymore!”
Just then, Vince poured two glasses of wine and handed one to Riley, “Rye, we’ve finally figured out why Samuel went missing. I’m sure we’ll find him soon. That’s something worth celebrating.”
Riley smiled, “You’re right, it is.”
She took the glass and downed it in one go.

“And let’s toast to Rye divorcing that jerk Bryce!” Vince said, pouring another round. “You never should’ve married a guy like that.”
Lara nodded. “Bryce’s face today was priceless. He was so sure Bella was his savior. Now that he knows it was you, Rye, he’s not going to come crawling back, is he?”
At that, Sebastian’s grip on Riley’s hand tightened slightly, while Vince said bluntly, “If he dares bother Rye, I’ll break his legs!”
“No need for that,” Sebastian said coolly. “Just make sure he never shows his face around Riley again.”
Lara shivered. These two men were intense, cach more formidable than the other. Most woinen wouldn’t dare get
close.
“You don’t need to do anything,” Riley said.
“Why? You going soft on him?” Sebastian asked, his eyes narrowing.
“No,” Riley replied. “It’s not that he’ll definitely come after me, but if he does, I’ll deal with him myself. No need for you to step

“Well said! Bryce deserves a good beating!” Lara raised her glass in agreement.
The group clinked glasses, drinking together.

Vince kept pushing drinks on Riley, toast after toast, until she was properly buzzed.
What started as celebration slowly shifted into nostalgia as Vince brought up their military days.
“Those days in the unit with Rye—I miss them,” Vince said, his voice wistful.
Riley smiled, her face flushed from the alcohol. She was clearly tipsy now. “Even though I used to beat you up back then?”
“Especially because of that!” Vince said, swirling his glass before downing it. “Those were the happiest days of my life. I’d give anything to go back, even if it meant you’d kick my ass every day.”
Lara’s jaw dropped. In Washington, only Riley could get Vince to say something like that.
But with Sebastian by Riley’s side, Lara could only feel a quiet pang of sympathy for Vince.
