Now that Riley and Sebastian had broken up, Vince was probably the happiest person alive.

“Enough about me. What’s going on with you and Shawn?” Riley asked, changing the subject.

Lara felt oddly guilty. “Nothing’s going on.”

“Then why did he show up at the bar with Vince?” Riley

pressed.

Just then, Riley’s phone rang. The caller ID showed Vince’s name.

“Rye, are you free tonight? We barely talked yesterday before you left. How about dinner?” Vince asked.

“Sure,” Riley said. She actually needed Vince’s help with some legal stuff anyway.

“Great, see you tonight then. Any restaurant preferences?” Vince asked.

“Anywhere is fine, just not too far,” she replied.

“I’ll text you the address in a bit.”

After hanging up, Riley received the restaurant location from Vince. It wasn’t far from Lara’s office.

After work, she drove to the restaurant. Vince had already reserved a table.
