Chapter 276 I Care
Vince stood up and stepped in front of Riley. “Sebastian, who she wants to be with is none of your business.”
“None of my business?” Sebastian’s eyes turned ice cold.
“You two broke up,” Vince said firmly.
Sebastian looked past Vince and stared at Riley. “I never agreed to any breakup.”
The people behind Sebastian exchanged worried glances when they heard this.
Should they really be listening to this conversation?
There had been gossip about Sebastian dating some woman, but that was news from Carmel. Most people in Washington didn’t believe it.
After all, Sebastian was famous in Washington for avoiding women completely.
“Whether you agreed or not doesn’t matter,” Vince said bluntly. “If Rye wants to break up with you, then you’re broken up.”
The tension in the air was thick. Several people behin

Sebastian were already sweating.
So Sebastian was going head–to–head with Vince, Washington’s golden boy. And Vince was acting all cozy with Sebastian’s girlfriend, even calling her “Rye“?
Vince hadn’t been spotted dining alone with any girl in
ages.
“What, you want me to break up with her so you can swoop in?” Sebastian sneered. “Dream on, Vince.”
Vince’s body went rigid. He’d never told Riley how he felt about her. All those missed chances had piled up over the years, and he’d kept his feelings buried.
Now that Riley and Sebastian had finally broken up, he’d been waiting for the right moment to confess. But he never expected Sebastian to call him out like this.
“Sebastian, you’re crossing the line!” Vince threw a punch straight at him.
Sebastian wasn’t about to take it lying down. He swung back hard.
The two men started brawling right there in the restaurant. Everyone else just stood there watching. Nobody dared get between them.

These guys were both untouchable. Who wanted to mess with that?
Just when it looked like they’d tear the whole place apart, Riley rushed forward. She knocked Vince’s arm away, spun around with her back to him, and grabbed Sebastian’s fist with her other hand,
“Stop it. This isn’t the place for a fight,” Riley said firmly.
Sebastian watched Riley standing protectively in front of Vince. Jealousy flashed in his eyes. “You’re really going to protect him? He threw the first punch today.”
“He’s my friend. Of course I’ll protect him,” Riley said. “Sebastian, don’t drag my friends into our problems.”
“Friend?” A smile tugged at his lips. He suddenly leaned down and whispered in Riley’s ear so only she could hear. “So he’s just a friend then. Don’t forget what I told you last night.”
Sebastian lowered his fist and straightened up. “Since you don’t like me fighting, I won’t fight. And if you don’t want to see me, we can stay apart for a while. But breaking up? I’ll never agree to that.”
He turned to his entourage. “Let’s go.”
“Yeah… Sure.” They quickly followed him. 3/6

Riley watched Sebastian’s retreating figure. He wouldn’t agree to break up?
Her plan for a peaceful breakup seemed impossible now. Maybe she really needed to give him the cold shoulder for a while. Eventually, he’d get tired and they’d naturally drift apart.
“Rye, don’t worry,” Vince said. “If Sebastian tries to force you into anything, I won’t let him get away with it.”
“He won’t actually force me to do anything.” Besides, Riley wasn’t the type to just sit around and wait for bad things to happen.
Riley looked around the restaurant. “But we should probably eat somewhere else.”
Even though Sebastian and his crew had gone to a private dining room, there were still plenty of staff and customers in the main dining area watching them.
“Let’s find another place then,” Vince said.
This time, they skipped restaurants entirely and ended up at a street food stall.
“This reminds me of our army days,” Vince said with a
