Chapter 310 Miss You
“I’m only with the Lincoln family to repay a debt,” Zane said.
“Yeah, right,” Cynthia laughed mockingly. With that much wealth sitting right in front of him, who wouldn’t be tempted? “If you got together with me, even if you don’t inherit the Lincoln fortune yourself, our child would have Lincoln blood. Uncle Benedict would probably make the kid his heir.”
A flash of disgust crossed Zane’s eyes. “Don’t forget. I’m a Lincoln now too.”
Cynthia leaned in close to his face. “So what? We’re not related by blood. If I actually had your kid, we could just announce that you’re not Uncle Benedict’s illegitimate son but his adopted son. I’m sure Uncle Benedict and the family would be perfectly fine with that.”
Just as her lips were about to touch his, Zane turned his head away. “Cynthia, I only see you as a sister.”
Cynthia’s expression changed. “Sister? You really think you’re part of the Lincoln family, don’t you?”
She shoved him away hard and looked at him with disdain. “You just got lucky back then. You were lying in some hospital bed with burns all over you and no money for treatment, and Grandma mistook you for someone else.

her happy and healthy. Otherwise you would’ve died from infection in that hospital bed years ago!”
“I know that,” Zane said seriously. “I’ve never thought I was really a Lincoln.”
“Good. Keep thinking that way. And don’t forget. That woman still needs the Lincoln family’s money for treatment. You’re just a dog the family keeps around to make Grandma happy.” Cynthia turned on her high heels and walked out of the private room, her head held high.
Someday she’d make Zane get on his knees and beg her.
Zane was alone now. He pulled out his phone and opened a remote monitoring app.
The screen showed a hospital room. A young woman lay in the bed, wearing an oxygen mask with an IV drip attached to her
arm.
Zane’s fingers brushed gently across the screen. “I’ll cure you, I promise. Just hold on a little longer.”
Staying with the Lincoln family was the only way he could get enough money and medical resources. His past, his lost memories–none of that mattered compared to saving her life.

They both used their connections, One of them tracked down Zane’s schedule for the rest of the night, and the other bribed a staff member to slip a drug into his drink,
It was just a sleeping, drug, the kind that would make someone think they’d had too much to drink and passed out. Nothing suspicious.
When Zane went to the lounge to rest, Riley, Sebastian, and Vince snuck in after him.
Sebastian’s people had already secured the area outside the lounge, and they’d bribed all the right staff members. Zane wouldn’t suspect a thing.
Riley was a little surprised to see Zane knocked out like this- the man who might be her brother.
But this was just how these things worked. The staff member they’d bribed was apparently really good at this stuff. He specialized in this kind of job and even had special bottles with hidden compartments.
“Blood or hair?” Vince asked.
He’d brought tools for both.
“Hair’s better,” Riley said. “Blood would leave a needle mark.”

hair carefully, and then sealed them in a plastic bag. Just to be safe, she pulled a few extra.
Once she had the samples, she couldn’t help kneeling down in front of Zane and staring at his face.
Even though he kept denying it, her gut told her this was Samuel.
“You know what, Samuel?” Riley whispered. Her voice sounded calm, but it was heavy with longing. “I miss you so much. If I’d found you earlier, maybe you wouldn’t have gone through so much.”
Sebastian and Vince stood off to the side. They both had different reactions when they heard her words.
Vince stepped forward and patted Riley’s shoulder gently. “You found him now, and that’s what matters. Let’s hope he really is Samuel.”
Sebastian pressed his lips together tightly. Riley had told him that Zane had burn scars all over his body from a fire three years ago, not the border fire from five years ago.
In other words, if Sebastian had saved Samuel back when they’d met, maybe Zane wouldn’t have these burns at all.

The thought made Sebastian’s chest tighten with anxiety.
Suddenly, Zane’s fingers started moving slightly. The drug was wearing off.
“He’s waking up,” Vince warned.
Riley nodded. Even without the DNA test results, she felt more
certain now.
A normal person would stay knocked out for at least two hours with that dosage, but it had only been half an hour and Zane was already showing signs of waking up.
