Chapter 314 The Result

Riley couldn’t find the words.

“Yeah, you can let me go. You can move on from your feelings for me. But I can’t do that. I can’t just move on and fall in love with someone else.” He straightened up and took a couple of steps back, a bitter smile on his face. “Riley, just how shallow do you think my feelings for you are?”

“I…” Her throat tightened, but she couldn’t get anything out. In the end, she just stayed silent.

His smile turned even more bitter. “This is pathetic, isn’t it? You were with me and then threw me away. My mother abandoned me, and my father abandoned me. I’ve spent my whole life hating being abandoned.

“But here I am, abandoned by you, and I’m still begging you to stay. I don’t even regret meeting you or falling for you.”

He laughed at himself, but his eyes were full of nothing but sadness.

Riley nodded, grabbed her bag, and left with him.

“Where’s Sebastian?” Vince was surprised Sebastian wasn’t tagging along.

“Don’t worry about him,” Riley said.

Vince could tell something had happened between Riley and Sebastian, but since she didn’t want to talk about it, he didn’t push. As long as she and Sebastian weren’t back together, he still had a shot.

They drove to the testing center.

When Riley took the report from the staff member, her hands wouldn’t stop shaking.

Is he Samuel? If not… where do I even start looking?

Her nerves were shot as she slowly opened the envelope and pulled out the report.
