Chapter 313 A Good Person

Thankfully, Sebastian dropped the subject and said instead, “Tonight, can you keep holding my hand? I don’t want to wake up halfway through and find you sleeping on the couch again.”

“Uh, okay. I won’t go to the couch tonight,” Riley agreed.

But even though she’d agreed, when it actually came time to sleep that night, Riley felt weirdly awkward about the whole thing.

After all, they weren’t boyfriend and girlfriend anymore, but here they were about to hold hands and fall asleep like they used to when they were together.

She kept telling herself it was just repaying a debt. That was all this was.

“Do you know how much I regret everything?” he murmured, like he was talking to himself or maybe to her. “I regret not being a good person before. I regret never having sympathy for
