Calvin looked carefully. “The style is almost identical. At least from what I see, it’s the same. The person wearing the necklace today said it belonged to her mother.”
Benedict’s body trembled abruptly. “What? Her mother?”
If she were still alive, she would have had children, and those children would be adults by now?
“Who… who is the person wearing the necklace?” He asked, his voice shaking.
Could that person be my sister’s child? Have I… finally found my sister?
“Riley. Her name is Riley Anderson,” Calvin said.
Benedict widened his eyes, his face full of disbelief.
“What? What’s her name?”
“Riley. She was originally a military UAV expert. After leaving the army, she co–founded Murphy Tech with her ex–husband. I’ve collaborated with her before. In terms of UAVs…”
Benedict could no longer hear Calvin’s following words.
Images of Riley kept flashing through his mind.

If that necklace really belonged to Riley’s mother, then judging by age, Riley’s mother is very likely the sister I’ve been

this time!
So that’s why Zane looks so much like me? Because he’s sister’s son! A child who truly shares my blood!
Have I finally found my sister?

Benedict was excited, but the next moment, that excitement froze on his face.
He had sent people to investigate Riley’s background.
He had seen in the materials that Riley’s mother was named Bianca Lopez, who died in a peacekeeping mission three years
ago.
Bianca…
How the hell did he miss it when he read through those files?
Lopez was his mother’s maiden name. That necklace–it had “Lopez” engraved on it. And Bianca… that was his little sister’s nickname.
So his Bianca was… gone? Just like that?
So that one time he let go of her hand–that was it?
He’d never get another chance? Not in this lifetime, not ever?
Suddenly, a mouthful of blood was directly sprayed from his mouth.

“Mr. Benedict Lincoln, what’s wrong?”
“Is there medical personnel? Quick, come take a look!”
The surrounding sounds were so chaotic. Benedict felt his consciousness gradually blurring
He stared fixedly at the banquet hall exit, watching the firefighters running back and forth.
Are they both Bianca’s children?

So, fate let me meet Bianca’s children, but I didn’t cherish them properly!
“No matter what… use everything the Lincolns have. Protect Zane and… Riley. They must come back safe and sound…”
He forced the words out with his last shred of strength.
As darkness pulled him under, only one face filled his mind–his sister, frozen in memory.
I’m sorry… Bianca.
I’m so sorry.

The smoke grew thicker and thicker. Riley hoisted the unconscious Cynthia over one shoulder, then pulled Sebastian

“What if… I can’t walk?” He looked at her, his face frighteningly pale.
“Then I’ll drag you out,” Riley said.
“Do you really think you can drag two people out by yourself?” Sebastian countered.
“Yes!” Riley replied with great determination.
Even with one calf fractured, making movement much slower, no matter how difficult, she was determined to get both Sebastian and Cynthia out.
“Stop talking nonsense. Hold onto my shoulder. Let’s go!” Riley
said.
Staying here any longer would only make things worse.
Sebastian was still out of it, so Riley didn’t wait–she hooked her arm under his and hauled him up.
Get out. We have to get out of here.
She dragged her busted leg forward, every step a fresh wave of agony shooting through her thigh and fire scorching her throat.
“My fault. Security should’ve been tighter.” Sebastian’s voice was rough. “You gonna blame me?”
Riley held him up, feeling something warm and sticky on hel4:35

“I only blame whoever set that fire and rigged the explosion!” Her voice cracked. “Stop talking. You’re breathing in too much smoke!”
But he had to ask. One more question. “If we both died here… would you regret saving me?”
Riley’s steps faltered. Then she kept moving. “No.”
She wouldn’t. Because when that ceiling came crashing down and she’d covered her head, staring death in the face–his face was the one that flashed through her mind.
In that split second, regret had hit her like a freight train.
Why didn’t I have the guts to try again with him?
If she died here, that would be her biggest regret.
And when she’d seen Sebastian throw himself over her, taking the hit–the shock, the overwhelming urge to cry–he’d never know what that did to her heart.
She knew if she asked him the same question–if he regretted rushing in to save her, getting torn up like this–he’d say “No”
too.
