Chapter 386 Lina Might Be Saved

This was his promise to her.

During the rest of Riley’s stay in the hospital, Sebastian never showed up.

Felix did call once, though. “Ms. Anderson, I’ve passed along your message to Mr. Torres. However…”

“However what?” Riley asked, a sudden sense of dread tightening her chest.

What Felix said next made her heart sink.

“Mr. Torres does not wish to see you,” Felix said. “Please do not contact him again.”

After the call ended, Riley was still gripping her phone tightly.

He did not want to see her. Did that mean he truly did not want to be with her anymore?

Had he stopped loving her?

But if he really did not love her, then why had he run into the Areto

to save her? Why had he risked his life to shield her from the

When Lara walked into the hospital room, she immediately noticed Riley’s pale expression and the way her right hand was clenched around her phone.

“What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell again?” she asked.

“No, I’m fine,” Riley replied. Over the past few days, her recovery had been going surprisingly well. She was healing much faster than expected.

In a few more days, she would be discharged.

“Then what is it?” Lara frowned.

“Lara, Sebastian still refuses to see me,” Riley said quietly.

Lara nearly choked. “What? That’s impossible. Did Felix actually pass your message on to him?”

“He did, but Sebastian still said no,” Riley answered.

Lara frowned. “That makes no sense. He loves you so much. If you want to get back together, how could he turn you down? At the very least, he should be willing to see you once.”

Riley let out a small, bitter smile. “Maybe this is my punishment. I realized things too late. I should have understood earlier, not after he nearly lost his life for me, not after I finally understood how much I love him.”

“Even if I do give up,” Riley said firmly, “it will be after I see him and hear him tell me himself that he no longer loves me.”

Lara’s eyes widened. “Five hundred million?

“Yes. At least that’s what the hospital in Russia says,” Samuel replied. “The donor is very willing to help and has even agreed to move up the surgery as soon as possible.”

Riley froze for a moment. The Lincoln family had not even announced the reward yet, and there was already such an eager donor?

“Alright, I have to go,” Samuel said quickly. “I’m heading to the airport. I’ll contact you again once I get to Russia.” The line went dead.

At that moment, in a hospital in Russia, Thomas stood in front of Sebastian, staring at him in pure outrage.

Have you lost your mind?” Thomas snapped. “I know my own body,” Sebastian replied calmly. “I am not going to die.”

Thomas let out a bitter laugh. “No, you probably will not die. But in your current condition, donating hematopoietic stem cells is basically giving up half your life. The damage to your body will be massive. Is it really worth it for Riley who already walked away from you?”

“It is worth it,” Sebastian said without a second of hesitation.

“And she never walked away from me.”

Not once, when he was in danger, had she ever abandoned him.

Not when they were children. Not after they grew up.

“What do you mean she did not walk away?” Thomas demanded. “Just because she did not leave you behind in the fire and dragged you out with her? You were the one who ran into the fire to save her. At worst, that makes you even.”

Sebastian’s hand moved instinctively to the black leather cuff on his wrist.
