Chapter 385 Trip to Russia
“Samuel!” Riley rushed forward and grabbed his wrist tightly. “It’s not worth breaking the law over her. Lina is still in Russia. She’s waiting for you.”
The sound of Lina’s name finally pulled Samuel back from the edge. His fingers slowly loosened around Cynthia’s throat.
Cynthia collapsed away from him, her legs giving out as she nearly sank to the floor, terror written all over her face.
Samuel lowered his head and stared blankly at his own hands. He had always thought himself reasonably smart, yet he had been toyed with by such an obvious lie.
And what crushed him most now was this question. What was he supposed to do next?
Could Lina really survive? She was the one who had saved him when he was at his lowest. He could not lose her now.
“Samuel,” Riley called softly, gripping his hand. “There will be another way. Even without Cynthia, we will find something else.”
“Another way?” Pain flashed across Samuel’s eyes.
fiwere that easy, he would never have allowed himself to be:16
“There will be,” Riley said firmly. “The world is huge. Somewhere out there, there is someone who matches. I will help you, and I know Uncle Benedict will help too. So please…” She took a deep breath. “Do not look that hopeless.”
Riley’s nose stung.
Samuel was supposed to be strong and steady, someone who stayed decisive and fearless no matter how hard things got, someone who never backed down.
But the Samuel standing in front of her now looked utterly broken.
It was as if, without even a sliver of hope, he would truly fall apart.
To Samuel, Lina was probably more than just the person who had saved his life. She was his emotional anchor.
In those hardest years, when they had relied only on each other, she had become his reason to keep going.
She was someone he absolutely could not lose.

Elsewhere, Felix stood before Sebastian.
“What time is the flight?” he asked instead.
“Five p.m.,” Felix replied.
“Then it’s time to leave,” Sebastian said, rising to his feet.
Sebastian’s fingers brushed lightly over the black leather cuff on his wrist.
Did she have any idea that those words were like the sweetest temptation to him? Like a lure that almost made him abandon the resolve he had struggled so hard to make?
The car arrived at the airport.
Sebastian stepped out and walked inside, with Felix close beside him.
everything ready at the hospital in Russia?” Sebastian asked
“But Mr. Torres,” Felix hesitated, then continued, “your injuries haven’t healed yet. You lost a lot of blood in the fire. Going to Russia now and doing that procedure will be extremely taxing on your body. Dr. Monroe advised you to wait a little longer and recover first.”
“I don’t want any complications,” Sebastian replied. “The longer we wait, the more things can go wrong. I know my own body.”
Felix fell silent. He knew there was no point in arguing. If even Thomas could not change Sebastian’s mind, he certainly would not succeed.
“My trip to Russia is not to be disclosed to anyone,” Sebastian added. “Especially Riley.”
“Yes,” Felix responded immediately.
Sebastian lowered his eyes to the black leather cuff on his wrist. Since that was what she wanted, he would help her make it happen.
