Maybe Thomas was right. If she wanted Sebastian to be willing to try again, she'd have to calm his insecurities first.

"You're awake?" he asked.

"Yeah. I'm awake," Riley replied. She had always been a light sleeper, and she had only dozed off.

When he lifted her, she'd woken immediately.

"We need to talk," she said.

"Alright. Let's talk." His eyes flicked down to the hand gripping his wrist. "Are you going to let go first?"

"You don't like me holding you like this?" she asked.

"No. Not really." Because it would throw him off balance and make him want even more.

That kind of desire could grow into something messy and maybe even dangerous.

"But I like it." Riley tightened her grip and yanked him toward her.
