**TITLE: Dreams Refuse Gravity by Leo Arden Knox**
**Chapter 82: You’re Not Getting in Here**
As Wren stepped into the hall, a wave of relief washed over the staff member stationed at the entrance. He exhaled deeply, his expression shifting from uncertainty to recognition. “Ms. Wren Anderson,” he announced, “this Ms. Anderson here claims to be from the fifth branch. She wishes to place her parents’ urns and portraits in the memorial hall today.”
“The fifth branch?” Wren’s tone dripped with disdain as she turned her gaze toward Riley. “Everyone knows that branch has been long abandoned. Besides, the Anderson family’s memorial hall isn’t a mere resting place for just anyone!”
The laughter of Wren’s wealthy friends echoed around them, a chorus of privilege that filled the air with mockery.
“Exactly! There are countless people with the last name Anderson in Carmel, but that doesn’t mean they’re part of the true Anderson lineage!” one of her companions chimed in, his voice laced with derision.
Next to Wren, a girl with a round face and a smug expression added, “Seriously, look at yourself. If you really are an Anderson, why does nobody even know you’re alive?”
Britney Lovato, Wren’s closest friend since childhood, stood beside her. The Lovato family had deep ties with the Andersons, their business dealings intertwining their fates. The two girls were inseparable, a dynamic duo that thrived on the social ladder.
Riley, undeterred by their taunts, turned back to the staff member. “Could you please call Uncle Bob? He can clarify everything.”
The staff member hesitated, glancing nervously at Wren.
Wren huffed, her impatience palpable. “Since Uncle Bob isn’t here today, I’ll handle this myself.”
She cast a glance at Riley, a cruel smile curling her lips. “Riley, this memorial hall isn’t some dump for your portraits and ashes. Even if you claim to be a distant relative, you can forget about this place. You need to leave right now.”
Riley’s expression hardened, her jaw tightening. “On what grounds do you make such a demand?”
Britney interjected with a laugh, “Because Wren is practically the princess of the first branch of the Anderson family! If she tells you to go, you’d better listen. In fact, she could even have you banned from all of Carmel if she wanted!”
Riley raised an eyebrow, her voice icy. “So the first branch of the Anderson family can do whatever they please, can they?”
