Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1010

"Uh..." The counselor forces a strained smile, looking at Juniper with motherly concern. "Juniper, honey, do you exercise regularly?"

"No." Juniper answers honestly.

The counselor hesitates, then tries again. "Do you know how to play tennis?"

"I'm alright," Juniper blinks.

"With your slender frame..." The counselor scratches her head, her smile looking more like a grimace. "Running and jumping around... you might get hurt. Maybe we should let someone else do it."

Juniper's status is completely different now. Not only is she the university's prize student—the one the professors rely on to solve major issues—but she's also the future lady of the Schwartz Group. Shanley's absolute devotion to her is widely known. If she gets so much as a scratch, Shanley might literally bulldoze the school.

She's just a lowly employee. She can't shoulder that kind of responsibility.

"It's fine," Juniper says, her expression deadly serious. "I guarantee I'll bring home the trophy."

"What?" The counselor stares at her, highly skeptical.

"Professor, if Goddess says she can do it, she can," the other students quickly jump in to defend her. "We've known her long enough. She doesn't bluff."

"Yeah, when Goddess says she's 'alright' at something... we've all seen what that actually means."

"Goddess might not like working out, but she's super strong," the guy in the corner adds. "She can send a grown man flying with one punch."

"Huh?" Juniper turns to look at him.

"Who gave her the delusion that she could beat me in tennis?" Sheryl scoffs, sipping her coffee. Just hearing that Sheryl was competing had made athletes from other schools forfeit the tennis bracket. Juniper sure had a lot of nerve.

"I think she's specifically targeting you," Yolanda says, gripping her cup as she analyzes the situation. "Juniper holds grudges. You have to be careful."

"Didn't you guys grow up together?" Sheryl leans back, crossing her legs and looking down her nose. "Does she even know how to hold a racket?"

"Well..." Yolanda thinks about it, her confidence wavering. Juniper spent most of her time living in a monastery with their grandfather. She used to think Juniper was useless too, but the girl turned out to have a terrifying amount of hidden skills. She's learned her lesson.

"I'm not entirely sure..." Yolanda says softly. "But she definitely can't compare to you. You were trained by the great Michelle, and you have so many awards. No matter how good Juniper thinks she is, she can't beat you."

"That's true," Sheryl says, her ego perfectly stroked. She dismisses Juniper completely, stating arrogantly, "Since she has a death wish and wants to challenge me, I'll just have to make sure she suffers the consequences."
