Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1020

"Dad, let's go!" Seeing Juniper's wicked smirk, Sheryl's face turned deathly pale as she desperately tugged at her father's arm.

"That little brat thinks she holds all the cards," Barnaby clasped his hands behind his back, shooting Juniper a venomous glare. His voice was grim. "Does she really think Shanley Schwartz will be her safety net forever?"

"I'll get my own revenge," Sheryl gritted her teeth. "As for the future..."

Sheryl forced a smile, the movement pulling at her swollen cheek, the hatred in her eyes burning brighter. "You're right, Dad. Shanley only likes her right now because she's young and pretty. If someone younger and even prettier shows up... what choice do you think he'll make?"

Thinking of this.

Sheryl steadied herself, looking at her father. A vicious idea began to take root in her mind. "Dad, let's send Juniper a very special gift."

"Done."

Barnaby smiled and nodded, agreeing without a second thought.

She was his only daughter, and she had been bullied repeatedly.

Whatever she wanted, he would give it to her.

At the gates of Eclara University.

Ever since their relationship went public, Shanley had been picking her up at the main gate every single day.

Wherever the crowd was thickest, that's where his car was parked.

When Juniper walked out, she immediately spotted the immaculately dressed, god-like man standing beside his car.

He was holding his phone to his ear with his right hand, while his left hand held a small box containing a low-fat cupcake.

Almost the exact second she appeared, Shanley turned around.

The moment he saw her.

He quickly wrapped up his call and hung up.

He strode over to her, wrapping a warm shawl around the girl's shoulders.

"Why are you wearing so little?"

"Just finished a race. I'm hot," Juniper muttered.

"Mr. Schwartz is here," the Computer Science students intentionally called out as they walked past.

In unison, they shouted, "Here to pick up Goddess again, Mr. Schwartz?"

Many of them were older than Juniper.

But in their hearts, she would always be their Goddess.

"Mm."

Shanley frowned, but he still hit the answer button and held the phone up to his girl's ear.

"Speak."

Juniper continued to eat her cupcake, letting Shanley hold the phone for her.

"Sanctum Holdings just made a move," Luella's voice came through. "They accepted our terms. They're willing to pay the fifty billion."

"That generous?"

Juniper's eyes narrowed, a glint of absolute ice bleeding into her gaze. "I'm starting to get curious about whatever it is they're researching."

"But they added a condition."

"They want Subterra Vanguard to convince Dr. Nocturne to join them."

"Well, that changes the price tag completely."

Juniper put the cupcake down and took the phone, naturally leaning back into Shanley's embrace. "Tell Sanctum Holdings we want eighty billion."

"Eighty billion?"

Even Luella was shocked by the number, stammering slightly. "Juniper, isn't that a little aggressive? What if they back out?"

"If they agree too easily, they'll only get suspicious." Juniper let out a lazy yawn. "Relax. Everything is completely under my control."
