"Of course she doesn't know how!"
Everyone turned their heads toward the source of the voice. They saw Juniper Payne, carrying her bag in her left hand and a half-eaten sandwich in her right, striding toward them.
"What did you say?" Seeing Juniper, Sheryl instantly went on the defensive, completely ditching any pretense as she shot back, "You, a computer major, are questioning a medical student?"
"Not questioning, looking down on."
Juniper tossed her unfinished breakfast into her bag and started rummaging for something inside. "If a person like you becomes a doctor after graduation, your patients will be incredibly unlucky."
The crowd shifted their gazes between the two of them, both were high-profile figures.
But honestly, couldn't they pick a better time for a verbal smackdown and save the dying girl first?
If they kept arguing, the girl was going to croak.
"Juniper Payne—" Sheryl looked up and noticed the crowd staring at her, their eyes full of doubt.
"Are you calling my spirit?" Juniper raised her eyes slightly, her tone careless. "You're a top student at the School of Medicine, right? Then go ahead and save her!"
"Her condition is highly critical, she shouldn't be touched." Sheryl's eyes darted around as she hastily explained, "You haven't studied medicine, what do you know?"
"Oh really?" Juniper finally pulled a hard clipboard out of her bag, stepped forward, and crouched down. She told the person next to her, "Gently support her head, and you, pry her mouth open."
"Ah?"
The two students exchanged glances, too scared to move. Although the Goddess was brilliant, she really wasn't a medical student. If Sheryl said not to touch her, maybe they really shouldn't?
"Listen to me, and she lives. Listen to that quack Sheryl, and she dies." Juniper held a pen, raising an eyebrow. "Who are you going to listen to?"
"Juniper has never even touched a medical textbook, and now she's trying to fool people with a couple of tricks." Sheryl crossed her arms and laughed brazenly. "If you listen to her nonsense, you won't even know how she dies. If you're not afraid of taking responsibility, go ahead and let her mess around!"
Hearing Sheryl's words, the two girls were terrified.
The patient was their friend, after all.
If something really happened and they were involved, they'd never be able to explain themselves.
But—
"Her jaw is locked too tight, I can't get it open," the girl said anxiously.
"I'll help too."
Suddenly, another girl from the crowd ran out, full of enthusiasm. "The Goddess can definitely save her."
Juniper turned her head and recognized the girl.
"It's me." The girl leaned in, excitedly whispering, "Goddess, we were opponents on the tennis court."
Oh, she remembered now.
The dance major who had asked for her autograph on the court and then ran to dig a water bottle out of the trash after the match.
"Thanks," Juniper smiled faintly, giving a soft warning. "Be careful, don't let her bite you."
"Got it." The girl nodded vigorously, assisting the other two, and they quickly managed to pry the patient's mouth open.
