Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1481

Lorelei couldn't pull it back at all. The blanket was thrown completely off.

In that split second.

Both of them froze, stunned in place.

Harold looked down, his gaze darkening inch by inch.

Lorelei was wearing a silk slip nightgown with a V-neck, revealing her elegant neck and beautiful collarbones.

Further down, the luminous, soft curves of her breasts were faintly visible...

Due to the sudden momentum, the hem of the nightgown had ridden up to her waist, leaving her lower half virtually uncovered.

Her long, shapely legs were suddenly fully exposed to his eyes.

The visual impact was so intense that Harold's memory was instantly violently yanked back to three years ago.

He had held those very legs, moving in countless ways.

"This nightgown is a little short." Lorelei, startled, hastily yanked the blanket back to cover herself. "It's too late, and I shouldn't bother anyone else for something else to wear."

"As long as you're okay."

Harold snapped back to reality. When he spoke, his voice was so hoarse it was almost a whisper, his Adam's apple bobbing sharply. "It's late. Go to sleep."

"Yeah."

Lorelei gave a small nod, shifting toward the far edge of the mattress and pulling the blanket all the way up to her chin.

She looked as though she was drawing an invisible line down the exact middle of the bed.

Harold lay down on the opposite side and switched off the lamp. Tiny specks of light filtered through the gap in the curtains, making the silence in the room feel profound.

With him lying beside her, Lorelei didn't dare move a muscle. She barely even dared to breathe too heavily.

Harold wasn't faring much better.

He could feel his heart hammering faster and faster. As a doctor, it was almost laughable that he couldn't regulate his own physical response.

Lying side by side, completely rigid, the atmosphere was incredibly tense.

"Goodnight," Harold said.

"Goodnight," Lorelei replied.

The room sank back into an endless, heavy silence.

Just as his thoughts were spiraling, the sleeping girl suddenly rolled over and curled right into his arms.

Looking at the girl pressed intimately against him, Harold's entire body went stiff.

Both of their sleepwear was paper-thin. Pressed together like this, he could feel every degree of her body heat.

Looking down.

The beautiful view of her chest was completely unhidden from his eyes.

"Hold me." Completely unaware of how dangerous her actions were, she nuzzled deeper against him, her voice sounding pitiful and wronged.

"Hah—"

Harold's breathing grew heavy, feeling like his heart was about to beat right out of his chest. "Who exactly do you want to hold you? Say the name!"

"I want..." Lorelei was half-asleep. Hearing the voice, her lips parted slightly. "Mmm—"

Harold's eyes darkened as he suddenly captured her lips, silencing her.

Don't say it.

He absolutely refused to hear Joel Garner's name.
