Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1489

Lexi clenched her fists, biting down on her teeth so hard her jaw ached. The jealousy in her eyes was practically spilling over.

How was it Harold?

Didn't he hate these kinds of events? How could he possibly be here?

And to jump into a pool to save someone, completely disregarding his image?

"Mr. Houston, Mrs. Houston, what on earth happened here?"

Mr. and Mrs. Landon rushed over upon hearing the news. Seeing the drenched couple, they were frightened half to death.

"An accident."

Someone in the crowd muttered under their breath, "Probably wasn't watching where she was going and fell in herself."

"An accident?"

Harold looked down at Lorelei, his voice a low rasp as he asked her.

Lorelei thought for a second, then shook her head.

"Understood."

Harold pulled her tighter against him. He turned his head to look at the Landons, his voice low and freezing cold. "I need a room to get her cleaned up."

"Someone, quickly! Escort Mr. and Mrs. Houston to the VIP suite upstairs immediately."

Mr. Landon scrambled to accommodate, apologizing profusely. "I'm so incredibly sorry for the poor oversight that led to such an accident."

"An accident?" Harold's face was devoid of warmth. His gaze swept over the surrounding crowd, his voice chillingly menacing. "My wife nearly lost her life at your party. Don't you think I deserve an explanation?"

"Yes, absolutely." Mr. Landon wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, forcing an apologetic smile. "We will absolutely investigate this matter thoroughly and get justice for Mrs. Houston."

"Since these people are your invited guests, Mr. Landon, I'll trust you to keep an eye on them for me." Harold's tone grew even colder, a terrifying aura of hostility radiating from him. "Once my wife and I have changed, I will be back down here to get that justice."

"Yes, yes, leave it to me."

Mr. Landon nodded awkwardly.

Compared to the Houston family, the Landon family's status was lower by a massive margin.

Because of that, the Houstons had only sent the younger generation to attend.

Who could have predicted a disaster like this would happen?

If he genuinely angered Harold, the relationship between the two families would freeze over, destroying any future business collaborations.

Leaving the threat hanging in the air.
