Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1662

“Ebony—”

Kurt's brows pulled together as he instinctively reached out, grabbing her wrist.

Ebony Fox stopped in her tracks, turning her head slightly. Her cool, distant gaze landed calmly on her wrist.

She was wearing a short-sleeved shirt, so there was no fabric between them; she could feel the boy's radiating body heat.

His palm felt a bit clammy, clinging to her like he was some sort of stubborn static cling.

Sticky and overly attached.

Ebony Fox shifted backward uncomfortably, her voice chilling. “Have you gotten a little too arrogant lately? Using my first name like that.”

“No.”

Taking in Ebony Fox's icy expression, Kurt quietly pulled his hand back, biting his lower lip. “Just be careful. Don't get hurt.”

“Just worry about yourself.”

Ebony Fox withdrew her gaze indifferently and turned to head toward the prep room.

The door clicked shut.

She stood in front of the mirror, her eyes dropping to the spot on her arm where he had just touched her.

It felt like his residual warmth was still lingering on her skin.

In the past, she used to find Kurt genuinely annoying—fragile, weak, and entirely too slick with his words.

But after spending more time with him, she was starting to realize he wasn't entirely terrible.

Great.

She had eaten his food, and now she was softening up. She had been bought off way too easily.

—

The third round officially began.

The fighter from Wild Wolf Combat Club stepped into the ring first. He was practically bursting out of his own skin with muscle, looking like an over-pumped bullfrog.

His expression was ruthless, his eyes fierce. As a national champion, he looked every bit the brutal brawler.

Following a roar from the crowd.

The referee began introducing the final contender from Fox's Den Boxing Gym.

Ebony Fox stepped out wearing a black sleeveless tee and athletic pants, her hair pulled back tightly into a braid, exposing her smooth, clean forehead.

She looked sharp, clean, and utterly lethal.

Kurt shot up from his seat, rushing all the way to the front row to get a better view.

Meanwhile, Xavier Saxon sat at the side of the VIP section, his hands gripping his chair tightly, his jaw clenched, and his expression deadly serious.

Even though he knew she wouldn't lose, he was still terrified she'd get hurt.

The bald guy had claimed he didn't bully women, but every single move he made was ruthlessly heavy-handed.

Ebony Fox's reflexes were lightning-fast, dodging him like a wisp of wind.

And as she slipped past.

She countered with a vicious spin kick, planting her foot squarely into the man's chest. A sharp, echoing *crack* snapped through the air.

The bald guy stumbled back two steps, his massive body slamming into the ropes before bouncing forward again.

He stood up straight, rubbing his fiercely aching chest as a dark fury ignited in his eyes.

“Whoa—”

Down in the front row, Kurt was practically jumping up and down, screaming his lungs out in sheer excitement. “Hit him! Hit him! Destroy him!!!”

Xavier instinctively glanced over at him, his brow furrowing slightly. “Ebony Fox's little friend certainly has a lot of energy.”
